Current mood:
thankful
I venture here to say that it is ultimately our pride, hubris. We think that suffering is (and should be...though we do not admit it) the lot of others. But we are wiser and need not the harsh lessons of the desert. We can accept good things from God all day (what we casually call "blessings"); but when hard things come up and we don't get what we want....hell to pay. How dare, we demand the universe, that I should suffer injustice? It is not fair. I should not be lumped into the masses who suffer daily, mostly due to ignorance and poverty. I should be spared.
Who, though...really, would want to be spared struggle? Who would want to slip through life's demands unscathed? Proud should we be when we are considered worthy to suffer - from the most trivial losing of the keys to the most devestating loss of health or loved ones. We stand in a long, long line of people who developed character the only way it can be had - one trial at a time.
Thank you Magnificent for showing us this way.
