Dave Dufner is one of the main song writers for Kush. Dave has been playing for several years and finds a passion in writing music. It's a driven force that engulfs his everyday life. Amazing enough for what he does on the guitar considering he plays it upside down and strung backwards, yet still Dave makes wonders out of the music he comes up with.
Mike VanDeman is our main lead guitarist. Its amazing to watch him do what he does on any guitar. The style he brings to the table totally compliments the music Dave writes. In my opinion he's the next Yngwie Malmstein
Jeff "Massive" Massie is our Bass player from hell. He doesn't just stop there though, he has vocals and a scream that would just rip and tear thru the souls of anyone around. The energy he has is sure to keep everyone pumped up from the band to the audience. Mike M. is our tympan man.His love and feeling for music has made him a pretenious drummer over time. The style and techniques he brings to the throne are just astounding, sure to amaze all of our fans

Kush has added Mike on drums. More details coming soon
It all started with Dave Dufner and Scott Varela in 1996. Not too long after what started out as just several "jam" sessions we realized there was something there. We then added Mike Vandeman(Guitar), Brian Guin(Drums), and Glen Huff(Base) to our line up. Anger's Mine was born. Mr Matthew Graves (Jr) would go around leveling all our amps till one day he said man guys i'm getting a board to run you all thru. LOL, Years later Matt is one of the biggest sound engineers in the area. By 1997 we went Live under the name "Kush". We played with many of the bigger bands that were in the area at the time such as Mispent Youth, Zero Divide, Cyrus Bliss, Stronger than Seven, and Soulmine. We played at the Planet, the Alley, R Bar, Southtown to name a few as well as many outside functions and a few lake parties. Opened for a few of the major venues that came thru Club SS including Kiss Army, Ac/Dc Tribute, and was booked for the Warrant show.
Kush had T-shirt sales and had a mailing list with well over 400 signups. Things were going great as we were normally schedule anywhere from 7-9 shows a month. Due to the seriousness and demands of a schedule like that along with 2 band practices a week it became a full time job and after so long it caught with us and a whole. Responsibilties sent us in a downward spiral with members moving out of state, children being born and so on.
Recently me(Dave) and Mike decided it was time to pick things back up again and take it to where we were heading so fast before. To get back on stage, get back into the studio, and become signed. So we have added another bass (Jeff Massie), and are currently looking for a serious drummer and singer. We are currently working on some old and a lot of new material. Hoping to be playing live again by the summer.
We will be coming out with a vintage Kush cd that will include many of our older songs from the original members of Kush as well as our new upcoming cd "The Massive Experiment". Can't wait to bring it all to you. See ya all soon.
