I understand what you are saying, but you have to realize that change has come because people chose to make a stand. The things neighbors were saying were not some off the cuff remark there was rancor behind it. Sorry that is unacceptable! I think because things are changing, what concerns me, is not that a majority of people are racist, but that those who are are so violent.

And of course I realize the media is manipulative. I always take it with a grain of salt. And I do believe they stir up racial tension.

btw, tell Jamie I said hello! :D

I love this country, but what scares me is the virulence of the remarks being said. Not only what I have been hearing on the news, but what I hear in my own neighborhood. And I agree there is racism far worse in other countries, but we are supposed to be an example.

And yes it makes me ashamed when I hear things like Obama should be hung or kill him or the many other things that I have heard. Where do we draw the line? And I want our country to be better and move forward.
So should we sit idly by because there are far worse places?

I say we keep trying to make it better and to that we can not turn a blind eye or a mute mouth to injustice and blind hatred.

When attendees of a republican rally shout out reprehensible threats and incitements to violence thats bad. When there is no hue or outcry from their peers and they are not shouted down that is worse.

Those are the hallmarks of mob rule or a fascist society, not a free and democratic one.
