About "OFF THE RAILS"
Ever since I joined MySpace I've received numerous requests for a sample of my book, "OFF THE RAILS: Aboard the Crazy Train in the Blizzard of Ozz". Here's an excerpt...

OFF THE RAILS - Aboard the Crazy Train in the Blizzard of Ozz
March 19, 1982
“Rudes! Rudes! Come on, get up!” I hear a voice yelling to me through the curtains in my bunk. As I slide the curtains open I see Randy standing in the doorway of the tour bus.
“What’s going on?” I ask with a yawn as I wipe the sleep from my eyes.
“We’re at the bus depot and Andy’s going to take Rachel and me up on a plane to see the country side. Get dressed and come with us! It’ll be fun.”
“What time is it?” I ask, fighting back a yawn.
“Oh, I don’t know,” Randy says with a shrug. “About 8 a.m.”
“Oh that’s all right, Rand, you go ahead. I’m just going to wait until we get to Orlando before I get up.” I put my head back down on my pillow.
“OK, but you’ll be sorry you missed it!” Randy kids as I watch him step out of the tour bus and into the quiet Florida morning.
I pull back the curtains in my bunk and go back to sleep, never to see my friend Randy Rhoads again.

Among the many reasons why I took upon the task of writing this book was to clear a lot of misinformation and bogus theories that circulate on the internet about Randy Rhoads' life and death.
Believe me it was not easy chronicling all of the daily events that happened on and off the road. Fortunately, I had kept a journal of our travels so I had accurate details.
But as I started my journey down memory lane the most remarkable thing happened, I felt that I was back in time reliving all the moments. It was great to have Randy alive, if only inside my head during the writing process, but as I neared chapter depicting his untimely death I began to procrastinate You see, I didn't want to lose him again. That chapter was the hardest one to write..
Though Randy's been gone for nearly 25 years his spirit still remains and from time to time he still showers us with gifts such as this. The last thing I expected when I sat down to write this book and began wondering down the long and winding passages of my mind was that at the end of the journey I was going to find myself. Thanks Randy.
