I am in the DARK, but dawn is coming! Just don't drink/use & don't hurt myself or someone else & today is a success. I need to start doing what works. Please pray for me, I need the willingness to do my part. Feedback is welcomed.
                         Thanks,
                              Mr. Robin B.

"How dark it is before the dawn! In reality that was the beginning of
my last debauch. I was soon to be catapulted into what I like to call
the fourth dimension of existence. I was to know happiness, peace, and
usefulness, in a way of life that is incredibly more wonderful as time
    passes."

Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.”

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go.

  • Jen-Making My Dreams Re…

amidst the pain and suffering that goes on in the world, there are positive people to be found who make it a better, more beautiful place.  Sometimes I think we forget how beautiful life can be with all the chaos, violence, pain and suffering that goes on in the world.  But when I look at the faces of all my friends, I am reminded that there are good, positive people out there who are doing what they can to help others and to make this world a better place as they bring their own beauty into the world.  Leaders of the past such as Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mother Theresa, leaders of today, and even those considered to be everyday people who often work behind the scenes, all of them have continued to carry on where the others left off, as they do what they can to help relieve the pain and suffering, help to heal broken hearts, and show people that life truly is beautiful, too.

About me:

To all the Hopeline, PostSecret and To Write Love On Her Arms volunteers and supporters,

We thank each of you for all you did in the Chase Community Giving Challenge on Facebook as it raised tremendous awareness of our organizations, the issues and the need for IMAlive! We came in second place, and won $100,000.

We won in every sense of the word.

You are why we won and thank each of you and will honor that support by working even harder to bring the needed programs to fruition sooner.

A special thanks to Frank Warren, Nicole Keimer, Jamie Tworkoswki and the entire TWLOHA team who gave 100% to deliver this victory.

Alive! Mental Health Fair

The Alive! Mental Health Fair is the Hope Center's newest program and it was created to provide an interesting educational program aimed at college students to help them learn how to prevent suicide.

Most people do not know that suicide is the second leading cause of death for college students.

The Hope Center created this program in partnership with Postsecret . There is an art therapy exhibit and a hands-on graffiti exhibit where each student is able to create their own art expression on a large canvas which is pre-populated with a theme customized for each campus. We screen A Reason To Live Documentary which depicts young suicidal adults grappling with life and death issues and how crisis interventionists help them. In addition, there is a PostSecret Exhibit , where blank Postsecret cards are sent to each campus in advance of the fair's arrival so that students can create their own PostSecrets which are then put on display at the fair. Lastly, there is a one hour training course in QPR , Question Persuade and Refer , on how to ask a friend or someone you are concerned about if they are suicidal, how to persuade them to get help, where to find that help and take them there. Counselors invited from the host college will be on hand to meet and speak to the students.

We are now booking Alive! Mental Health Fair at college campuses for the Fall of 2010.
