.. .. Thinking of categories within the music industry, you would describe Mieko..s music style as TechHouse, which she strictly refuses. Cold sounds and bass are aspects of electronic music, but Miekos intends to communicate the emotional impact and the warmth while following her own "Color Theory". As a synesthete herself, Mieko works with a synasthetic color theory to experience the sound, where space is her canvas. In live performances she translates her perceived colorscapes into soundscapes.
The music is a direct response to the space and everything in it.
Her dj sets take us into an interactive world of sounds, which she frequently garnishes with selected film excerpts and recorded voices.
Mieko has been part of the Tokyo techno/house scene as a DJ and event organiser since 1998. Her „Garden“ Party (Colors Studio, Tokyo), focussing on deep underground sounds, she invited international as well as Japanese artists, including Julietta (Harry Klein), Clement (kill the dj) and Daso (Connaisseur). As musical director she was involved in the Calvin Klein Fashion Show 2008 in Tokyo. Outside of Japan, she has layed her colors of sound in over 15 countries. Held residences in Australia and Germany and has played in NYC, Hong Kong, Marsailles, Paris, the Netherlands and Vietnam. In Jun 2008 she started the monthly night „KooKoo“ at Farbfernseher in Berlin. 2009 Mieko released her 1st track „Fly Tobu“ that she produced and vocalized with Elbee Bad. It appears on the album „The Otherz“. In october 2009 she was part of Female Pressure, a tour throughout Japan, with the world renowned yet grounded so lovely dj Electric Indigo.

Zur Zeit lebt und arbeitet MIEKO (Tokio, Japan) in Berlin, Deutschland. Mit einer Kombination aus Techno, House und Minimal-Musikrichtungen, folgt sie ihrer eigenen auf Farben basierten Theorie, um bestimmte »Klangschaften« mit warmen Basslines zu kreieren, die stark beeinflusst vom deutschen Klang sind, aber auch mit den düsteren Klängen Tokios. MIEKO ist seit 1998 an der Tokio techno/house-Szene als DJ, Veranstalterin und Musikproduzentin beteiligt. Während dieser Zeit hat sie öfters auch international in Deutschland, Österreich (mit Electric Indigo im Flex), Frankreich, Holland (zusammen mit Layo & Bushwaka, Amsterdam), New York, Hong Kong, Vietnam, China, Südkorea und Australien Auftritte gehabt. 2003 wurde sie zur Gewinnerin der Heineken DJ Competition in Japan gekrönt und das führte zu einer Zusammenarbeit mit Paul Oakenfold im Club ageHa (Tokio). MIEKO veranstaltet ihre eigene techno/house Party ..Garden.. (Colors Studio, Tokio, seit März 2006). Auf tiefen »underground« Klängen fokussierend, lädt Garden sowohl internationale als auch japanische Interpreten ein, u.a. Electric Indigo, Clement (Kill the Dj) und Daso (Connaisseur).

彼女は越境し続けている。
自分がデザインした服でショーをやるなら音楽も自分のタイミングで流したい。
そう思ってDJを始めた。

ある夜は密やかなミニマル、翌日はワイルドな脱４つ打ち、翌週はロッキンなメニュー。
その柔軟なスタンスに深みを与えているのがプレイ・スタイルだ。 時には３台のターンテーブルを駆使してのロング・ミックスは『つなぐ』とい言うよりは『描く』世界。
実際、本人のレコードはカラー・シールで色分けされている。
彼女はペインターでもあるのだ。

音へのこだわりもはんぱじゃない。 自らのパーティー『Garden』ではたった一夜のためにスピーカー を移動し、吸音布をはり、モニターを持ち込む。 もちろん針はどこで回す場合も自分のものを持っていく。 自分のレコードは自分の針のクセで溝が掘られていく。だから自分の針だと針飛びしにくい、という理由で。

ここ10年あまり母国・日本をベースに香港、中国、ベトナム、オーストラリア、アメリカ、オーストリア、オランダ、フランス、ドイツとプレイの場を広げてきたMIEKO。'07年末からは拠点 をベルリンに移動。
越境の歴史は新たな次元に突入した。
