Suite au succès de la première édition de Balkan Trafik (3000 personnes ont profité de l'ambiance survoltée du festival), toute l'équipe de 1001 valises remet le couvert.
Nous sommes en train de vous concocter, pour le mois de mars 2008, une deuxième édition dont vous nous direz des nouvelles. La recette est la même, en mieux : plus de groupes, plus de fanfares, plus de dj's... Mais toujours de la qualité, de l'ambiance, des rencontres. Et de quoi découvrir la cuisine et les vins des pays invités...
Ce site vous en apprendra plus sur le millésime 2008 : vous pourrez au cours des prochains mois y découvrir en exclusivité l'évolution de l'affiche, les lieux du festival et tous les bonus et les surprises que nous vous réservons.

Wanted : groupes et scénographe
Il y aura une scène balkano-belge cette année à Balkan Trafik. Toutes les démos d'artistes belges sont les bienvenues. Contactez-nous pour obtenir plus de renseignements sur les procédures de sélection.
Deux groupes seront invités à se produire sur la scène du festival...
Nous recherchons également un scénographe pour le spectacle du 29 mars qui réunira sur scène un grand nombre de musiciens belges et albanais.
Il y aura 4 groupes sur scène. Leur entrée, leur sortie, les éclairages, ... tout doit être prévu pour que ce spectacle atteigne l'exigence de qualité que nous nous imposons. Si vous vous sentez prêt(e) à relever ce défi, faites-nous signe...

Balkan Trafik : THE Festival of European Southeast countries in Brussels
The first edition of Balkan Trafik festival in 2007 achieved a great success with more than 3000 visitors.
This year the association 1001 valises and the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels go at it again! On 27, 28 & 29 March 2008, the Bozar (Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels) will again welcome artists from all over the Balkans. Their furious rhythms, their overflowing enthusiasm and their fascinating culture will carry you away.
Balkan Trafik is a musical and cultural meeting with our neighbours of the countries of Southeast countries. Traditional and electro music, circus, dance, films, happenings, workshops, Balkan wine tastings, exhibitors… In one word the festival is a real immersion in Balkan culture. This year Balkan Trafik insists on the exchange and the meeting in its programme with two exclusive creations :
'Balkan Zirkus.eu' is a stunning show that gathers young artists from the Balkans and from Belgium. First-rate circus with a nostalgic Balkan touch. Children are welcome!
'Tirana <=> Brussels' is a musical creation led by Belgo-Albanian accordion virtuoso Gjovalin Nonaj. The show is a mixture of polyphonic singing, dance and rhapsody.
On 27 March 2008 The festival will begin with the European preview of « Against The Stream », a gripping documentary about a boat gathering musicians by each stop on the Danube. These artists then compose and play together. The Danube Ship Orkestar will be there to accompany the film !

Sotazero is a band from Barcelona, which consist of 7 musicians with different styles that all together light the flame of rumba parties, fused with funky, rock, reggae and disco music; which is all sung in catalan. The band, which was created in 2002 Now presents its first album, which is due to be released this fall, with the collaboration of: Lichis (Cabra Mecánica), Dj Panko (Ojos de Brujo), Oscar (Macaco), Dennis “huevo” (Radio Malanga), Jaleo Real, Vallsamba and Kayo Malayo.
This tour of 2007-08 they’ve already performed in more than 60 concerts around Catalunya, and they are still going strong!
Sotazero takes part of the project Tercera Via, a musician’s society in Catalunya. Tercera Via was created to cover the needs of bands, as a result of a lack of resources, support and trust. This is because the administration and all other music companies have shown in the past that they don’t look after such bands, which start their own career singing in catalan. With this company all Tercera Via..s bands are able to produce their own albums at the same time that they publish them on Internet in mp3 format.
