  • Bio

Khatrun originated in 2003 with Michael Clark - bass and guitars, Darren Travis - vocals and guitars, Daniel Jurak - vocals and Ravi Khan - guitars. They were good friends who got together doing what they love, playing their music and recording their efforts. The bands influences range from Pink Floyd, BB King, Hendrix, Marty Friedman, Zappa, Satriani etc.. Recently, they were joined by Jeremy Loy - guitars and Chris Marshall – drums. Chris achieved success in 'Jacob Zladder', an Adelaide rock band in the 90's and played alongside Michael in 'Black Vegas' a heavy riffing alternative/hard rock band. Chris has spent the last couple of years in 'the Neverbells', an Adelaide folk/rock outfit and is currently rehearsing for a string of fringe shows called 'The Deer Johns'. Ravi Khan played for ten years with university band 'Jinx", while Darren, Daniel and Jeremy jammed it out in garages all around Adelaide. Khatrun have a busy year ahead with live shows, some recordings arranged and an EP planned for later in the year, but for now, they are busy working on increasing their repertoire with blues, some wicked rock and some slow ballads just for a change of pace. Khatrun enjoy the song creating process and working together to make music, just doing what they love really. Khatrun's youtube page is http://www.youtube.com/user/KhatrunCollective?feature=mhum highlights some great examples of some of their songs. The future is looking up for Khatrun and 2011 is going to be an exciting year for them. http://www.myspace.com/10061971372009485031a http://www.reverbnation.com/khatrun

Hi everyone, a short update on some Khatrun news. The good and the bad. The Good: Rav has scored a new job which frees up a lot of weekends, which makes planning gigs etc easier. The Bad: Rav  has to be posted in Darwin for 6 months!!! so more recordings and the gigs we have been building up to are now put on the back burner. Take care all, thanks Mick.
