............This Map has to work! ROCK ON!!...... .. .... .. .. .. ...... ..A Note From The Artist:...... As the child of hard-core classical musicians, I was forbidden to listen to the ..Beatles -.. or any other pop-music artist with the possible exception of ..George Gershwin.. and ..Scott Joplin....... One day, while innocently watching black and white daytime tv in Concord, New Hampshire, I caught a clip of ...."Cheap Trick".... playing a song called "Oh Candy"..... The power-pop seed had been planted; my life was never the same from that moment on!.... Fast forward to Boston - somewhere in the 1980's when ..Joe Perry.. was out on his own and practicing in an infamous warehouse behind a huge hardware store called Moe Black's ..(...infamous? Just ask anyone in Aerosmith!!)......... One evening, with my band set-up in the same facility, and Joe nowhere to be found, I ventured over to "their side of the joint" and plugged my ..Fender Rhodes Stage Piano.. into Joe's massive guitar amplifier. Suddenly I was harnessed with the power I had been searching for (...but never could find as a piano player...) and I became fascinated by the changes in sound I could achieve by varying .."touch sensitivity".. and using .."altered chord voicings"....... ..The VOODOO Jets.. is the band I brought to life based upon these experiences..... There are ....NO GUITARS.... anywhere on this record, nor are there any digital guitar samples to be found. It's a ..Rhodes through a Marshall,.. end of story..... Sure, I have evolved the ..EQ.. settings a bit and I use a ..WAH Pedal.. and the wonderful ..Roland AX-1 Controller with Pitch-Bend.. capability, but the core of what is on this CD was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, deep within the dusty confines of a ratty old warehouse.....
