    When I was young I made myself a survival kit out of a coffee tin. It contained: a film cannister full of sugar, a mirror with an X carved in the mercury, Glossettes, aluminum foil, a whistle, a swatch of red fabric, a very small pocket knife, and a Band-Aid. I wore it on a string around my neck.
