From the Monkeys’ mouth
The following is taken from a Portrait Magazine interview with Jackson Rathbone:

You write your own music. Do you have a band?
I do actually. I play whenever I’m not acting. The band is called 100 monkeys.

What instruments do you play?
Mainly guitar, keys, bass. We switch it up though so I play the mandolin and the banjo too. It’s mostly blues and southern rock...very contemporized though! It’s so much fun! It’s a 3 man band but we all switch instruments and we all sing. Lots of harmonies etc...we just love playing together!

The following is taken from Jackson Rathbone Online, when a staff member got to speak to the band:

Q. Do you think you’ll ever come to the UK to play?
Jackson: We’d love to. We have plans for a late summer tour, and then hopefully we’ll do an international tour some time in 2010.

Q. Is there any news on when the 100 Monkeys website will be up and running?
Ben G.: Yes! We’ve just hired a developer. The site address will be www.100MonkeysMusic.com

Welcome to the 100 Monkeys UK Fan Page, run by Jo. We are dedicated to supporting and promoting the band throughout the UK and Ireland, spreading the word about their amazing sound to boost the number of fans on this side of the pond in the hopes that they'll come over here to tour.

100 Monkeys are a blues and southern rock band from LA, consisting of Jackson Rathbone, Ben Graupner, Ben Johnson, and Jerad Anderson, and they’re awesome! This is their myspace page, which has some of their improv songs, and there are a several videos on youtube from live gigs.Ugly Girl, Smoke, Wing on Fire, Orson Brawl, Wasteland are some of the better quality videos, but there are other videos of songs such as Thank You and Long Distance Phone Call. Their debut album, Monster Deluxe, is an improve album; recorded in one take, made up on the spot, and it should be available by the end of the month, and a second album, consisting of songs they’ve actually written, should be out in the summer. The guys are also working on setting up a website.
