About me:

Dropped out of college at nineteen to become a beverage server,
Tended bar for soldiers, airmen, marines, and many a sailor.
Became a rent-a-cop with the Burns Security force,
Married badly, joined the Air Force, then filed for divorce.

Married a Master Sergeant with children totaling four,
Stationed in England in ‘80 where youngest daughter was born.
Left service to return stateside to have son in Oregon in ‘83,
Graduated from U of O with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology.

Moved to Southern California in ’89 to soak up some sun,
To provide a better education for our youngest daughter and son.
Suffered volunteer burnout syndrome and failed miserably at real estate sales,
Then substituted for seven long years for grades K through twelve.

The dream of appearing on Jeopardy! was accomplished in September of ’02,
Scored a run away one-day win only to heartbreakingly lose game two.
Won a total of twenty-two grand while gaining my fifteen minutes of fame,
I now force myself to forget all the trivia that was cluttering my brain.

Content these days to be at home with my cat and surf the ‘net,
To post on boards with fascinating people I have not yet met.
Thus is the awkwardly rhyming story of my fifty-three years of life,
From server to airman to teacher to thirty year wife!
