From the Beginning... Peter 'Big Elvis' Vallee began singing at his local church when he was a youngster. There he was told that he sounded very similar to the young Elvis. By the time he was a teen at the tender age of 13, Pete learned to play the guitar and had put together an act. At a school talent contest he was not prepared for the unbelievable response from the audience, both students and parents were wild about his rendition of 'Jailhouse Rock'. .. ..Ricky and the Starfires..... .. At the age of 14, Pete started sitting in with local bands in Seattle, and he had a regular gig with Ricky and the Starfires playing every weekend until he made the move to Las Vegas with the band where he stayed until moving back to Seattle to attend college. A number of years later, Las Vegas called him back where he began performing on a regular basis. This good looking, clean cut, good natured man, had a voice that sounded so much like the King of Rock n Roll that people were amazed! .. ..The king of Rock n Roll..... .. An avid collector of Elvis memorabilia, Pete admires his namesake and pays true respect and tribute to the King of Rock n Roll. His legendary status as an entertainer infiltrated every inch of the city, creating a momentum that has continued to grow. Today it is almost impossible to visit Las Vegas without spotting an Elvis impersonator, running into a pair of novelty gold-rimmed glasses at a souvenir shop or hearing “Viva Las Vegas.” .. .. ....Elvis impersonators have made their mark as part of Sin City’s signature offerings. Vallee, known by some as “the Godfather of Elvis impersonators,” according to his long time personal manager, Lucille Star, is a genuinely nice guy who really cares about what his audience thinks. .. .. ....“Elvis was a good person and I love the music…we have a lot of similarities,” said Vallee, who has no trouble emulating Elvis’ voice or his commitment to his fans. “Elvis is all about giving…it’s easy to play when you have that same character.” .. .. ....His almost entirely audience-request-driven show encompasses a repertoire of more than 900 songs, spanning six decades of music than includes everything Elvis along with popular songs from other music genres.
