NASHVILLE FLOOD BENEFIT CANCELED
BY MT. JULIET CITY OFFICIALS
The rains came and went. Streets turned to rivers and back to streets again.
The floodwaters receded but left behind the remnants of lives and memories.
Homes gone. Possessions gone.
Nothing was the same.
In the wake of what proved to be the worst flood the State of Tennessee had ever seen, people from all walks of life banded together to lend a hand to their neighbors, families, and to total strangers as well. Our music community shouldered the load as well. All around over our city benefits and concerts sprung up, from our Country Superstars to the new Pop sensations. Music gave all.
One such benefit, Music United, was conceived by Nashville based Heavy Metal artists Cut Slingload as a way for Nashville’s Heavy Metal community to join in and lend a hand as well. Everyone but the people who ran the venue.
What started out as a simple, noble gesture of kindness on the part of the Metal Community became someone else’s banner for stereotyping. Someone else’s narrow-minded point of view took somethi
