   About Lila
Lila combines the traditions of contemporary folk with the world music sounds of Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and India. Lila (pronounced LEE-luh) is Sanskrit for "Divine Play". The centerpiece of the group is the soaring vocal harmonies of Deborah Pine and Janette Michaels, which express Deborah's spiritually uplifting lyrics. This mix is propelled by the world beat rhythms of Sean Scanlon (bass) and Clark Jamison (percussion), creating a sound that moves the body and nourishes the soul. Lila has opened for Judy Collins, Maura O'Connell, and has performed at events for Unity, the Shining Heart Sufi Community, and the Wakarusa Music Festival, among others.

"The world can only be grasped by action, not by contemplation...The hand is the cutting edge of the mind."

- Jacob Bronowski

The first law of success is concentration.
Bend all your energies to one point,
and go directly to that point,
looking neither to the right nor the left.

By focusing your efforts to a single point,
you'll always achieve the greatest results.

If you focus the full power of all you are
on what you have a burning desire to achieve,
you'll attain success.

I wish you pure success in all you paths,
Many Blessings and love,
Your friend,

Lila I appreciate your friendship and being part of my life. I believe that every single person who enters our life is there for a reason and everybody has a gift to give. Life to me is a remembering process and it is about sharing that remembrance. I write blogs for that purpose and I would like to share with you the gift of my remembrance: please view my blog by going here http://blog.myspace.com/135620083 and please subscribe if you consider it something of value.

We all remember different things so if you have a blog you would like to share please invite me; I would be grateful for the present indeed.

“Having a desire that is not achievable is like having a hunger that you cannot feed. It is like seeing the food that will satisfy hunger and unable to attain it.” ~Nicholas Powell

The virtue of angels is that
they cannot deteriorate;
their flaw is that they
cannot improve. Man’s flaw
is that he can deteriorate;
and his virtue is that he can
improve.

Wishing that Angels be always watching over you!
May all your projects be abundantly blessed,

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.
**Anais Nin

No matter what might be happening in your life right now, take a
deep breath, relax and let your thoughts be still.
Just as darkness gives way to dawn, so does despair create a new beginning.
Never allow yourself to forget that it is from the darkest moment of the
night that each new sunrise is born.

Whatever you do, you need courage.
Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong.
There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right.
To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs.
Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them.

**Ralph Waldo Emerson

I sincerely wish you all good things,
with all sincerity
with much love and with deep respect
Your friend,

"Making an issue of little things is one of the surest ways to spoil happiness. One's personal pride is felt to be vitally injured by surrender, but there is no quality of human nature so nearly royal as the ability to yield gracefully."

—~Charles Conrad
American Senator, `1841-1843

Sometimes the sweetest victory is found in simply overcoming the need to be right.

May you be blessed today!

And may you also be aware
that you are loved beyond measure
and a cherished blessing to me.
With deep love and great respect

"The fact that I can plant a seed
and it becomes a flower, share a bit
of knowledge and it becomes
another's, smile at someone and
receive a smile in return, are to me continual
spiritual exercises."

~ Leo Buscaglia, American author and teacher

With that thought in mind,
may your soul
get a daily workout
and may your spirit
be richly nourished.
Stay happy and keep being yourself
With Warmth and Light,
Your friend

"Do what makes you happiest. Look upon what gives you joy. Speak to those who warm your heart. Listen to that which lifts your spirit.
Surround yourself with sights and sounds and people who give you pleasure. For all the happiness you give to others all year long, give yourself the perfect day."

~ instructions from a very wise being

Choosing to believe that all things happen
in the best possible time, however, I consoled myself by trusting that it was simply yesterday's timing that was off, and today's launch, like the potential for this day, is perfect. I hope you agree.

May you also be aware that you are loved beyond measure
and a cherished blessing to me,
Your friend

Dance of Divine Love

Jan 30 2007 3:50 PM

Namaste Dear Soul,

Thank you for entering into The Dance of Divine Love page!

“Divine Love is a type of eternal dance in which souls continually move towards and apart from God within the various phases of love –love that is ever-increasing in intensity, at every moment”

“While dancing,
they sang out loud
and the throats of those
so delighted by love
became reddened.
They were overjoyed
by the touch of Krishna,
and the whole universe
became filled
with their song”

May your every word be a song and your every step a dance, always in Love!

And may your heart always burn in the flame of Divine Love……
