There
are few songs that remain constants for me. This song is for my Mom
who's birthday is this week. A Case of You along with so many Joni
songs have been the bridge between us and helped in growing our
friendship throughout my adult life. Blue, the album this is off of was
a seminal piece of work in my Mom's life, and luckily it became the
same for me. There really are no words to say how much this song means
to me, as a writer, a singer and a hopeless romantic. I find it's
meanings to be endless and I hope in this little moment, in that tiny
room with that old microphone I was able to capture just that.

first of all, it's 2009 and in reality no matter what fucking way you look at it or try to put it, everyone talks shit. the only think i've talked shit about in regards to you is your constantly changing sexuality. which also in reality is not even my business but for some reason it has been brought up on more than one occasion. i think the whole "omgiluvamber" thing gets under my skin too, which isn't even your fault but i don't know. the thing is, we used to be best friend when i was like 14 haha, i'm going on 17 now and you're fucking 20. i don't know if we'll ever be close again, i don't know if i'll ever speak to you again after a week from now, who knows. but i'm sick of this tension i feel with you even when we DON'T talk. almost like an unlabeled mutual hate or some bullshit. it just fucking sucks that shit had to happen like it did, for you, me, cass, like how shit used to be. i'm rambling. i don't even know
