Christine Crowley is a Cape Breton artist whose passion for the music of her Gaelic ancestors is borne of destiny. Chrissy is the granddaughter of Newfoundland fiddler Bill Crowley and Cape Breton fiddler Archie Neil Chisholm. She is proud of her musical heritage and greatly values the traditions of her Scottish forebears and her Newfoundland/Irish ancestors. Chrissy lives in the beautiful Margaree area, a place known for its cherished musical culture. The music of the ceilidh resonates in the majestic mountains and peaceful valleys, incorporating not only the tunes of the Scottish Gaels but also those of the area's Irish and French-Acadians. Christine Crowley is one of Cape Breton's new generation of fiddlers; those who are inspired by the traditions of artists who have gone before. She has embraced the music of her celtic roots and has made it her own.
Chrissy's 2007 East Coast Music Award Roots Room Showcase got the attention of SonicBids as a "Sonicbids Success Story" and she was a spotlight artist in February!
It's amazing how I feel when I'm around you, How my heart pounds when you are online I look at you and think: My God! How lovely! And everything I am bursts into bloom. I feel as though you must, you must be mine, Not as a possession but a goal, Something almost unimaginable: The free devotion of another soul. As though I were about to enter heaven Or just within the hour condemned to die, My mind with one fierce thought keeps running over, With you, and only you, the reason why. Anonymous.
Let's go out and have some fun. It doesn't matter where or when, Or what we say or what we do, As long as it's just me and you. Let's be together for a while And get to know each other well, Exchanging jokes and tales and chatter Before we get to things that matter. Let's see what happens when we dance Across an evening sky, and glimpse Lets greet the dawn, Just you and me…..
