   About Roger Green
Born and raised in Denver, I started playing in bands as a teenager with Patrick Park and Sera Cahoone. I then joined the Czars for a few albums. In 2006 I was contracted to write a composition for 25 typists and 5 musicians presented a the Blemar Laboratory of Art and Ideas in Lakewood Colorado. I also appear on the Blossom half of Ron Miles' Stone/Blossom album which was released by Sterling Circle Records in November 2006. In November of 2004 I resigned from the Czars in order to work on my own music. For six years, the Czars was my main project. I was fortunate enough to work with Simon Raymonde and Giles Hall in the studio on The Ugly People vs. The Beautiful People (Bella Union / Manifesto 2001). During my tenure with the band we also recorded Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren" for a tribute called Sing a Song for You (Manifesto 2000), soundtrack music for the film "I'd Rather Be...Gone"(2000), X Would Rather Listen to Y EP (2002), and Goodbye (2004). I feel lucky to have opened for / played with Sixteen Horsepower, Woven Hand, Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots, David Gray, Low, The Flaming Lips, Elf Power, Imperial Teen, Ron Miles, Violet Indiana, Hem, Devics, Joe Sampson, Porlolo, Patrick Park, Heirloom, Scout Niblet, Red Cloud, Cowhause / Janet Feder, Momen Terra, and probably a lot more I'm forgetting. Other releases include: The Way Things Go (2003): What Would This Be For? - Porlolo / Roger Green Split(2004): Roger Green S/T (2005): Blossom (2006); Clear Running Water (2007); The Glenn Taylor Orchestra (2008).

Roger,
Beautiful music last night. Quite the band you put together. Ridiculous setup.
Perhaps they could have put you in the bathroom hallway!

Look Who’s Coming to the Tattered Cover!

Paul Miller aka DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid

Paul will be at the Tattered Cover on Tuesday, August 26, at 7:30 pm in our LoDo store. (This is our venue at the corner of 16th and Wynkoop).

SOUND UNBOUND is Paul D. Miller's follow-up to his award-winning first book RHYTHM SCIENCE. First and foremost, SOUND UNBOUND is a collection of thirty-six essays that focus on the role of the artist, composer, and writer in a world that is becoming more interconnected every day.

In a lecture format, exploring the overall theme of sound in contemporary art, digital media, and composition, Miller reconstructs the history of sound and recorded media by several of the most well known artists of their field - ranging from Brian Eno, Steve Reich, Moby, Chuck D, and Pierre Boulez, to artists, writers and theoreticians like Jonathan Lethem, Bruce Sterling, Manuel Delanda, and even Islamic culture's relationship to hip hop with an essay by media activist and artist Naeem Mohaimen.

It's a rip-mix-burn-lecture lasting about an hour and is accompanied by his use of many historic texts, rare audio recordings and films, to demonstrate the complex relationship between text and art in a multimedia context.

It will be followed by an autographing.

You should be there with us. It's a cutting-edge piece of work.
