They started out as actors in the smash TV show, METEOR GARDEN:
Meteor Garden Lovers (1st & Original in MySpace)
Each was picked to play the characters in the TV show. Wu was spotted when he took part in television show, Super Sunday's Search for Taiwan's most handsome man. Yen had been a model for quite some time. Zhou was recruited instead when he accompanied his friend to the Meteor Garden's audition. Lastly, Zhu was discovered while he was working as a captain in a Japanese BBQ restaurant. The success of the TV show had all four of them being whisked away by Sony label to record a Mandarin album even before they finished recording the TV show! F4 becomes the most popular boy group in Taiwan when their debut album, Meteor Rain chalked up an unprecendented pre-sale bookings of 150,000. They even have their own Tv show called ABCDEF4 and are guest- hosts to numerous Taiwan entertainment shows. Their overnight fame have all four of them booked for future various projects, both as a group and individually. Looks like F4 is going to stay in the entertainment industry for quite some time, as actors and singers.
