About me:
I've been a writer, editor, video & computer game designer, college instructor, comic book writer, pro wrestling play-by-play announcer and heaven only knows what all else since the 70s. With my partners Arnie Katz and Joyce Worley-Katz I co-founded Electronic Games magazine in 1981, acknowledged as the world's first such publication. I have since been involved in the development of more than a dozen magazines and game sites. I have written for EGM, CGW, The NY Times and Forbes, among many other magazines. I have also written nearly a dozen books of game strategy for publishers such as Prima, Brady and Acclaim. As part of Subway Software (with Katz and Worley-Katz) I worked on dozens of game designs, including Bart's Nightmare (Acclaim), the first electronic game to use the WWF license (MLSA's MicroLeague Wrestling), Batman Returns (Konami) and Superman, Man of Steel (Tynesoft).
My most recent book is "Confessions of The Game Doctor" from RolentaPress.com where you can even read a sample chapter. As of January '07, I became editor-in-chief of TIPS & TRICKS magazine for Larry Flynt Publications, a position I maintained until the monthly magazine was canceled after the August '07 issue. I currently edit the Running With Scissors Newsletter, PostalNation.net (also accessible via www.gopostal.com) and write several columns a week for J2Games.com.
I can be seen in a series of recent interviews filmed in the Spring of '07 at LFP for Videojug.com. These videos can be accessed from: http://www.videojug.com/interview/an-introduction-to-video-games
You can also click on the Hollywood Bowl to see a recent appearance on video in this report on "Video Games Live" at http://wii.advancedmn.com/media.php?gameid=1573&medtype=2 -- it's quite long if you don't have broadband and I appear about 15-17 minutes in. Nonetheless, fans of game music will want to watch the entire video, if only to see a sample of the concert, including music from Halo 3 played live for the first time.
I now blog regularly on Jay2Games.com in the Game Doctor section.

Who I'd like to meet:
Intelligent people interested in the ragged edges of pop culture -- what I call Renegade Culture. That includes electronic games, comic books, indie films, classic horror movies, pro wrestling, MMA, game design and related areas of interest.
