KTEN signed on the air in 1954 as the first local television station to serve both North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. KTEN Channel 10, which in recent years has been the area's exclusive NBC affiliate, once served as the area's ABC affiliate. This was very unusual for such a small market, as ABC was not on par with NBC and CBS at the time. It also carried a secondary NBC affiliation. KTEN was originally based in Ada, OK and is still licensed to that city though the main studio has been located in Denison, TX since 1986. In 1985, KTEN added a second studio facility in Ardmore, OK and the following year, opened a third studio in the Historic Katy Train Depot in downtown Denison, TX, that would also become the station's main studio complex. In 2002, KTEN moved its main studio from the Katy Depot to a new location off of Highway 75 in Denison, TX. The station's current area of operations includes it's primary studio in Denison, TX, a secondary studio in Ardmore, OK and a sales office in the station's former home city of Ada, OK. KTEN-TV no longer holds an ABC Affiliation, but does carry the following networks through it's digital transmission system, also known as Multicasting: 10.1 = NBC, 10.2 = Texoma CW, 10.3 = TrueView Doppler 10/4 Radar Loop with narration provided by the National Weather Service. KTEN-TV Analog Channel 10 carries NBC as it's primary affiliation. KTEN also provides constant news updates via it's web service http://www.kten.com.
