From an MC's perspective looking in at the music industry and the typical rappers of today, it seemed to Q-S & Klassic that the focus has steered away from "talent" such as those that master the art of rap, to today's rapper who seemingly searches for a hit record or street credibility with a movement behind them to push them to the mainstream.
It's very simple to follow trends ... just take a look around you. But being unique is what separates one from the rest and innovation is by far the lane less taken in most people's lives. Anyone can put lyrics together and rap, but Q-S & Klassic show the true meaning of being innovative emcees that refuse to fall into the norm of today's rap artist or music industry, but rather "go left" and pave their own path instead of following today's trends set by rappers in the industry. Simply stated, this hot duo has creative minds and versatile styles to the degree that it's as if they were placed in a league of their own as they continue to set examples and goals for hip-hop.
Born outside of Philadelphia, Pa. and Trenton, N.J. respectively, Salih Abdur-Rahman "Q-S" and Shuaib Abdur-Rahman "Klassic" would exchange rhyme after rhyme in ciphers just for the fun of it, but they quickly began honing their craft as true hip-hop musicians. It never occurred to them to take their talent to the top and pursue rap as a career until the summer of 2006 when they received much positive feedback from many sources on their ability to flip songs and hit singles by major artists. In 2007 Q-S & Klassic further proved they can make better hit tracks than major rappers with their "Remix" skills, hence "The Remix Vol.1". Influenced by hip-hop artists such as Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, Nas, and 2pac, Q-S & Klassic grew fond of negative concepts but elevated to more of a keeping it real style shining as a prime example of what it means to be "all around lyricists."
What at first looked like a hobby soon developed into a passion for the two as they traveled the world to spread their music globally. Thanks to Web sites such as MySpace and YouTube, they were able to spread their music and videos much faster all around the world to receive as much exposure as possible with the help of their fans. Through desire, dedication, and determination, Q-S & Klassic now strive for perfection with a goal to make history with their music and show the world what they are truly capable of as lyricists.
