Yin Yoga works with sensations and stretches deep in the connective tissues and joints, relative to the more superficial yang tissues of muscles and skin worked through Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga Class. Yin Yoga opens up these deep, dense, rarely touched areas that can't be reached in a faster paced yoga class. Poses are held for longer periods of time, so new depths of practice can be reached, deeper ranges of motion, and an increased flow of energy to the deeper tissues of the body. Yin Yoga is the perfect compliment and balance to the more active, yang practices such as Bikram and Vinyasa. This class is appropriate and challenging for all levels. John JOHN attended his first Yoga class in 2000, and was hooked @ NAMASTE! Years of searching for a way to relieve stress, attain peace of mind and a lower handy cap was at an end. The first summer as his yoga practice began to build so did his thirst for knowledge as his handy cap tumbled. When the opportunity arose to teach a Yin yoga class in 2008, John took a leap of faith.
