10PM Band is the music collaboration of Mike Worthington and Doug Furia.
Mike is the lead vocal and rhythm guitarist for 10PM. He played trumpet and drums in earlier years and became a jazz fusion drummer in local bands. He was infatuated with the guitar after hearing Dave Matthews for the first time. After years of songwriting experimentation, Mike put down the drumsticks and pursued his passion for writing and playing acoustic guitar. His syncopated playing style compliments his alternative vocal.
Doug is the anchorman at the keyboard, backup vocal, and sound engineer for the band. Formal piano lessons in his adolescent year did not stop this Colorado native from creating a style all his own. His influences are Elton John, Billy Joel, and Marc Cohn. As the owner of Studio D. Music LLC, Doug produces for 10PM Band and other musicians in the Denver area. For him, the music network that continues to grow is the realization of a life-long dream.
Annnapurna Nemani representing Colorado Music Buzz wrote: "Billy Joel and Dave Matthews influences are obvious - lyrics are emotive, melodies mated perfectly with harmonies. Live, they are the butterscotch topping with the marshmallow fluff on the banana split I expected them to be."
In addition to this "sweet" article published in the 2007 May issue of Colorado Music Buzz, 10PM played the Oriental Theater, and was featured in a Live @ Lunch show with host Cindy Schneider at KRFC FM Radio in Fort Collins. 10PM enjoys communicating with active fans in the US, Mexico, Italy, Japan, and China and has been heard on Internet Radio YSKL as far away as El Salvador. 10PM's music can also be heard and purchased on iTunes.
