  • Bio

Been singing for years, but only really got myself organised for the last three years. I am now singing with big bands and small bands in the UK, inlcuding my own band, the Moondance Swing band. Mainly Swing and Jazz music, but hey a great tune is a great tune, and I love the way that good songs are being rediscovered and re-arranged and discovered by new audiences My BIG,BIG new project has been starting my own band, the Moondance Swing Band and a Jazz trio the Moondancers. Creating something new is very stressful, but boy when it comes together, and I've been really lucky that I've found, not just good musicians but people I like being around to do it with, so very lucky. I also perform as a duo, with a pianist called Adrian Sharon, which is a real joy. I find this gets you to use you voice in a way you don't get a chance to with seventeen instruments and all that HOT AIR behind you.....

Frank Sinatra Tony Bennett Vic Damone Bobby Darin Jack Jones Sammy Davis Jr Matt Monro Jackk Jones Ella Fitzgerald Sarah Vaughan Shirley Bassey Nat King Cole Peggy Lee Louis Prima Elvis Presley The Beatles and hundreds more........... I went with my family to the London Palladium when I was about seven and saw as a first act.. The Buddy Rich Big band ...... and then ........Mr Sammy Davis Jr..... WOW......... MY BACKGROUND Born to English and Italian parents, like any good singer of these wonderful songs I've got Italian blood in my veins. However, somewhat madly I had kept my love of singing under wrapped. Until last year where, with the Apollo Big Band, I headlined in a charity concert at the Theatre Royal in Winchester. Since then things have taken off and I have been singing with the Apollo and also the Chosen Few Jazz Orchestra and in smaller groups and solo in different venues in the South of the England. Gigs have include shows at the following venues A show with Chosen Few Jazz Orchestra in Wokingham, The Newbury Corn Exhange, Exbury Gardens, New Forest, Liberty Ballrooms Newbury, Glebe Jazz Festival, Jazz in the park This music has always been a very great love. From a youngster sneaking onto my parents prized stereo system, listening to wonderful artists like Nat King Cole and Matt Monro. Now, in my own small way I have a chance to sing the songs of my idols. Sinatra, Darin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Harry Connick Jr Ella Fitzgerald and Mr Tony Bennett. It’s great today to see so many great talented artistes keeping this wonderful music so new and fresh, and if young, attractive and good looking boys and girls can do it, then someone has got to stick up for the forty-something’s. It is a real thrill to be able to sing songs that have been around for so long but which still have much love and affection and meaning in the world today. Be it singing with backing tracks to a duet, trio, small band to big band I hope I can convey the style and appeal of these big band artists. You can also find me on --> moondanceswingband on myspace THANKS FOR STOPPING BY....................
