   About 1101010

This page will no longer be maintained. To download the album or get more information please refer to the Last.FM page here: http://last.fm/music/1101010 Cheers

This album was all recorded and written in a month. If you go to the site you can download the whole lot (10 songs). Seemed like a good idea at the time.

I'm guitar/vocals in Mokita too.

Everything on the album was played and recorded by me using the following:
AXL analogue delay pedal
Boss LS-2 line selector pedal
Bush FM/AM/LW sports radio
Cables and leads
Carlsboro Pro-Series B1-200 bass amp
Digitech X-Series digital delay pedal
E-Bow
EKO 12-string acoustic
Fostex VF160 digital multitracker
Marshall practice amp
Musicman bass
Pearl cymbals
Pro Co Turbo Rat pedal
Rickenbacker 360 copy (by Tokai)
Seymour Duncan humbucker pickup
Shure SM58 mic
Telecaster copy, with humbuckers (by some dude in Japan 30 years ago)
Yamaha AN200 analogue synthesizer
Yamaha DTXpress drums
Zoom 504-II (for tuning)

I bent my rules a little by using two ideas I'd had kicking around for a long while but never really used. However, all of these were new recordings and in fact everything on the album ended up being recorded live, even the stuff I could reasonable have cut and pasted or programmed. This was down to laziness more than anything else.

Most tracks were recorded quickly and the first take was often the one uses. Occaisionally I would write something that was hard for me to play and forced many retakes just to get a half-decent version, and you'll hear this in the many bum notes, mistakes and slighty timing issues on all tracks. I did try to fix as many of these as possible but part of the time limit was to get over a desire for perfection.

The Loft

Jul 6 2006 12:45 PM

Even if you leave this comment on your page for a few days we will draw massive attention to this!
The Loft venue in Cambridge may lose it's independence, turning it into another corporate chain venue.
A team of volunteers have worked tirelessly for 6months building the reputation of this venue, only for a large music chain to want to take it over.
This represents everything bad that is happening in the music industry today, one that obviously seeks money over music. One that rarely invests in new music and diversity.
We can't fight this alone, we're trying to show the strength of feeling against this take over and raise awareness of the DIY music culture which is thriving.
Help us!
Even if you've never been to the Loft but know of a similar venue in your own town and city that is independently run welcoming any band or artist regardless of their audience size!
Please read our petition, if you agree and would like to add your support then please sign and leave a comment. We need help from all you artists who believe music should be kept out of the hands of the large corporations!
For anyone else who loves discovering new music.

Save the Loft. Click here to sign our petition

If you would be happy to put this banner on your own myspace to help us spread the word, simply follow the instructions on our myspace page
Thankyou
