Highly acclaimed musician/composer Wayde Powell has been playing and writing music since age 10. His father bought him a banjo that Christmas Eve and he was on stage a week later. He wowed the audience that night and hasn't stopped since. His perfect blend of mind bogglingly fast virtuosic runs and spine chilling melodic passages has garnered the respect and admiration of music lovers worldwide. His respect, passion, and excitement for music are second to none. However, it is his amazing work ethic that sets him apart from his peers. His marathon practice sessions and attention to detail are legendary among musicians and inspire all who play with him. Although most people know him as a guitarist, Wayde is a virtuoso on several instruments as well as a very respected composer. Or as the ever playful Mr. Powell himself puts it, "...I was a classical guitar major in college and that was just way too much fun! But the guitar isn't my only bag. I started out as a banjo player when I was 10. Somewhere along the way I started adding bass, dobro, cello and a few other odds and ends while learning to play jazz, classical, rock, funk, speed-metal, and even dabbling a little in pre-1927 Norwegian redgrass -the little known or believed forerunner of bluegrass..." There could be volumes written on his skill and knowledge but a close listen to his music will show you why words are sometimes not enough. Simply put, Wayde Powell's music is nothing short of spectacular. Go now and listen. You will hear countless hours of diligent practice. Days of constantly living inside of the music.
