Bio
BIO: The Campaign was born after many, many nights complaining about there being only bad metal (and even worse emo) bands in Romford. After writing 7 songs The Campaign were ready to play to the world...or so they thought!!! In the 3 years since they started there has been some amazing gigs, Some awful gigs and some drunken gigs that were a mix of both!!!! .. They have played their little pop songs @ Islington Academy, 93 Feet East, The Dublin Castle, The Metro, The Macbeth, The Victoria, The Legion, Catch, 333, The Rhythm Factory....and various other dives!!! .. .. And played with Boy Kill Boy, Baddies, Adam Ficek, The Others, Factory Floor and The XX .. .. Notorious criminal Charles Bronson once wrote a song for The Campaign...it remains unrecorded. .. .. The Campaign have released 2 EPs "True Reflections" and "A Gift From The Campaign" both were recorded (On the cheap) @ 7k studios in Seven kings. .. .. -

THE CAMPAIGN – TRUE REFLECTIONS (4 TRACK CD) Are The Campaign the lovechild of Joey Ramone and John Squire? You’d think so given a quick blast of the Romford band’s CD – imagine the sultry vocals of the Ramones mixed with the jangly guitars of The Stone Roses and you’ve got some idea of what this quartet sound like. The singalongish ‘26’ stands out as one of the most memorable songs in this release, alongside the spacey effects of ‘Change’ and I’d imagine during a live set you’d never stop dancing to their upbeat tunes. If indie’s your thing, you’d do worse than to check this lot out - Noizy Fanzine .. .. Buzzcocks, early Husker Du and a touch of the Joey Ramones about the vocal. Roustabout Romford based band rocking some nifty little punk pop toons. Lotsa skinny ties and waistcoats, white slip on shoes etc..and indeed I also hear The Flamin' Groovies and The Saints, this really is top notch powerpop - The Dublin Castle .. .. "The Campaign", wisk you back to the first new wave when life was simple, fun and uncomplicated, just like this music it lifts the soul with an upbeat guitar, cocky southern twang, 1234 and rabble rousing drums". - Buzz Livemusic reviews .. .. Classic tunes, catchy, melodic, ironic with a bit of oi and 1234 you have the perfect cocktail of classic indie punk beamed down from london 1978 - FMS Promotions .. .. "Driven New wave... The buzzcocks cure and raw garage explode in a monochrome firework" - The Bull & Gate, Kentish Town .. .. "Blur if Damon Albarn had been obsessed with Buzzcocks instead of The Kinks" - Redbridge Green Fair .. ..
