The band, Zug Izland, is rounded out with a group of dedicated, experienced, passionate, and ultimately talented musicians from the motor city; Detroit, Michigan.
Syn a.k.a. G-Man: Zug Izland's lead singer, Syn, personifies the role of frontman for a rock band both on and off stage. His powerful stage presence has been described as energetic, as well as unpredicatable, but he never ceases to send the loyal fans in the crowds' adrenaline level through the roof. G-Man also writes all of the lyrics on Zug Izland's most recent album, 3:33. His lyrics are an intoxicating blend of hyper-realism and an exploration of imperfect human morality brought forth through first person immagery.
Rex Hamilton: Rex Hamilton has set the toxic rock world on fire since being recruited by Zug Izland in 2004. Rex has been a mainstay at Zug shows ever since then. Undeniably talented, he is responsible for the bands deep bass sound and has made for a great addition to the group.
Mike Smith: Mike Smith is one of the most recent additions to Zug Izland. Many of you know Mike P. as the guitar force behind Zug Izland, but as time goes on things change. Mike Smith is part of an evolution in toxic rock. Anyone who has seen Zug live since this great addition will tell you that Smith has some serious skills. Smith's an experienced musician and brings a great new edge to the toxic rock ensemble.
Tim aka 2Phat: Yet another very deserving soldier has joined the Zug Army. 2Phat has a very successful history in the Detroit music scene, most notably with the group 2Phat and the Phamily Phunktion, and he continues that Detroit legacy with Zug Izland. This new member brings a whole new heavier sound to the band that has been very noticeable at recent live performances. His new and devestating style is bringing all new elements to Zug Izland and the toxic rock revolution. Only good things are in the future of this talented artist.
This assembly of talented musicians have united, and formed a creative sound in music that is undeniably impressive and worth checking out regardless of what one's regular preferred genre is.

Zug Izland's inspiration in music is life, just as their inspiration in life is music. As far as bands who Zug Izland respect and appreciate the legacy of, they list Led Zeppelin as a favorite, as well as Black Sabbath. The band has even been known to regularly cover classic Sabbath song War Pigs at live performances. ZugIzland.Com recently posted an internet release of The Wall with a bit of toxic rock flavor added to it.

Zug Izland produces original music. The music they produce varies, so they have no particular sound. On an album like Cracked Tiles you can go from an emotionally charged song like Always to a heavier, deeper sound on a song like Hiroshima that features much more explicit lyrics. The followup album from the band, 3:33, also contains a wide variety of music. Hate which is widely considered one of the band's heaviest songs, is only a couple tracks away from the bands personal take on the rock ballad in the song Feel. Will Zug Izland continue this pattern with the upcoming EP, Promise Land? That question will soon be answered, as the Promised Land is nearly upon us. And in order to trully appreciate the band Zug Izland you must experience the energetic and compelling live performance that they put on for the diehard fans who have supported them for several years now.
Zug Izland burst onto the music scene with their debut effort, Cracked Tiles Outta Detroit, Michigan. The album sold exceptionally well for being the band's first release. The first single was a cover of the song Cry, from the popular film The Lost Boys. The cover recieved heavy rotation across the country and helped to earn them a spot touring the country with established artists like King's X and Dope. After spending several months on tour honing their craft, the band chose to peform for a number of radio festivals playing alongside other popular bands such as Saliva, Three Days Grace, and Tommy Lee.
When they felt that the time was right the band followed up with their sophomore release, 3:33. Like the first, this release displayed the band's ability to adapt to several different styles of music. From Syn's growling vocals and the intense guitar solo of Hate, to the bands own take on the rock ballad in the song Feel. The band filmed a music video for the radio friendly single, Saved, shortly after releasing 3:33. Not only did the song recieve regular airplay on radio stations throughout the country, the music video was aired on various stations, and the band was honored to have it nominated for the Detroit Music Award's Best Music Video of the Year award.
And now Zug Izland have yet another release in store for the loyal fans who have made them the success that they are today, and weathered through the good times and the bad. Big things are currently on the horizon for Zug Izland. Plans are currently in the works for a full-length tour, as well the release of the much anticipated Promised Land album, in addition to G-Man's recently revealed plans for an acoustic album. The band have yet to disappoint with their first two releases, and Promised Land is sure to be yet another standout performance from this refreshingly new rock ensemble.
