Thanks for taking the time to listen to my music. I hope my music has made a difference in your life, because life is worth living; always keep being creative and have fun! I've been playing music for a long time, various bands, various instruments, and the recurring themes are dark, but hopeful. The emphasis has turned to songwriting and performing live, hence the drive to use looping backgrounds I create with my 5-string electric cello, electronic percussion, and various other instruments, while I sing over top of the sound-bed. Fans are always amazed to see "music being made right in front of their eyes" while I conjure loops in real time. Alas, in a 15 minute window of a live Open Mic, I have to resort to pre-recorded loops I made previously. I hereby dub this genre as "Un-Dead Looping Electronica"! I find it hard to pigeon-hole my genre as it is so I end up using "Singer Songwriter / Gothic / Dark Americana / Dark Jazz / Dark Folk / Dark Lounge Electronica". Basically most bands on the Projekt and early 4ad labels. Dead Can Dance, Lycia, Fields of the Nephilim, The Cult, Cruxshadows, Arcana, Apocalyptica, Jill Tracy, Jami Sieber, Marston Smith, Johnny Cash, Unto Ashes, Rajna, Legion Within, Rob Zombie, Midnight Syndicate. I am inspired by graveyards, their smell, the wonderful grave angels, the untold stories from really old grave markers, and mausoleums to drool over. I am inspired by the depth of emotions that I can express from my personal experience. Other wonderful mutli-talented artists inpire me to go beyond and really stretch myself.
Sounds Like
Contemplative, expressive, and eclectic, the sound can remind one of soulful New Orleans dark-jazz and blues, bombastic classical musings, or peacefully hypnotic grooves to meditate by.

Bio:

As a solo project away from AngelsDevilsGhosts, GothiCello is striving for a unique fusion of styles from Ethno Gothic and Industrial to Dark Jazz and Heavy Classical. GothiCello is creating music to raise the dead and calm the lost souls. Besides his primary instrument, a Ned Steinberger 5 string electric cello, he plays piano, Native American flute, electronic and acoustic percussion, and sings. Recently, he re-vamped his setup to include an Akai APC40 and is looking forward to playing live in October, with and alongside AngelsDevilsGhosts.
