Beginning as a writer in punk rock bands, Justin Rayfield always leaned toward the melodic, harmony driven variety. The melodies and harmonies have evolved into a softer style and, while little of the punk roots are still showing, the passion remains with a vocal intensity that could only come from such a high-energy beginning.....The latest musical projects, "Made Of Skin" and "The Long Walk", are the result of years of growing and collaboration with other talented musicians. .... On the recordings, you can hear The Vagrant Shrew (Bass/Vocals) and Daniel Merrel (Drums/Vocals/Keys/Mandolin) in the Northwest, and Lightnin' Lee Jellison (Drums/Vocals), Danielle Boudreau (Bass/Vocals) and Jason dePreaux (electric guitar) in the Southwest.
