The Julies were formed in the mid-90's by Julie of The Julies. The band has gone through numerous lineups made up of Julie of The Julies & some of Los Angeles' most illustrious musicians, including Dan West, David Arnson, Robbie Rist, Probyn Gregory, Brian Haught, L. Don Hubbard, Rev. Dr. Melvin B. Davis, Kristen McCord, Mark Fletcher, & saw player Bill Bingham. The Julies' music swerves recklessly from hard rock, power pop, surf, glam, dark wave, blues, folk, & carnival creep. The Julies played many L.A. venues such as The Whiskey a Go-Go, The Roxy, Spaceland, Jack's Sugar Shack, The Alligator Lounge, Pershing Square, The Gig, The Joint, Martini Lounge, The Cadillac Club, Al's Bar, Small's, Highland Grounds & festivals such as Silverlake's Sunset Junction, & Poptopia. The LA Weekly dubbed Julie of The Julies as "Best Julie" in their annual "Best of LA" issue in 2000. After witnessing a performance by The Julies at the infamous "Garage" in Silverlake, C.C. DeVille, of Poison fame explaned: "The Julies kick ass!" Sam Andrew, famed guitarist for Janis Joplin in both Big Brother & The Holding Co & for her solo music, proclaimed of Julie of The Julies, "You have the magic!"

in the LA/Silverlake scene, the band added a drummer, a bass player, occasional 2nd guitarists & keyboard players, accordionists, and possibly the even the "World's Tallest Saw Player." The Julies have gone through numerous incarnations, & have been made up of Julie of The Julies & many of LA's most illustrious musicians, including. The Julies performed in the LA area at many of the major clubs & festivals around town, & have had the honor

of recording and playing with The LA Weekly dubbed Julie of The Julies as "Best Julie" in their annual "Best of LA" issue in 2000.
