Discordia is a Metal-Band from Germany/Bavaria. It’s hard to say something about the very individual sound of the band. It’s mainly the diversification of the singers and a high-grade songwriting which stamps the music of this band.

The history of Discordia as a band started in winter 2003, when the two masterminds Joschka and Berny began to play music together for the first time. Both of them had the wish to found a band. Primary the music was affected of bands like Nighwish, but very soon a very individual style was developed.
Leon Foris (Drums), Stephanie Deutzer (Sopran), Joschka (Gott) Altschäffl (Guitars), and Bernhard (Berny) Widmann (Keyboards) were the earliest Line up in the history of the band. The members couldn’t come to an amicable agreement concerning their band-name and in the end they decided to call themselves Discordia.
The name has become the destiny of the band as it seems. The history of Discordia is short, but tempestuous. Many changes in the line up made and make it difficult to appear on the stages of the world. Always when it seems that everything is on the run, again one of the members leaves the band.
But the frustration about this, as well as the hope that better times would come and the knowledge about the own proficiency built the base for a very individual sound.
At the moment Discordia is the two masterminds Joschka (Gott) Altschäffl (Guitars, Songwriting, Producing, Vocals) and Bernhard (Berny) Widmann (Keyboards, Songwriting, Grunts, Spoken, Vocals), Veronika (Vroni) Hinzen (Sopran), Daniel (Jack) Weidner (Guitar) and Antonia Niesig (Violin).
So the band is once more in its history not complete. Discordia is looking for a good drummer and a bassist at the moment.
At the moment one works diligently on new songs and their production, tries to find musicians and not to resign at all.
Discordia will go on.
Music is our dream, Discordia is our destiny.

Discordia ist eine Metal-Band aus Deutschland/Bayern. Der Stil der Band lässt sich schwer in eine Kategorie einordnen. Prägend sind vor allem die gesangliche Stil- und Stimmvielfalt und ein sehr ausgefeiltes Songwriting.

Die Geschichte der Band Discordia begann im Winter des Jahres 2003, als die beiden Masterminds Joschka und Berny zum ersten mal gemeinsam ein Instrument in die Hand nahmen. Ziemlich rasch entstand aus dem gemeinsamen Musizieren heraus der Wunsch eine Band zu gründen. Ursprünglich orientierte man sich musikalisch stark an Bands wie Nightwish, doch schon bald entwickelte sich ein völlig eigener Stil.
Leon Foris (Drums), Stephanie Deutzer (Sopran), Joschka (Gott) Altschäffl (Guitars), und Bernhard (Berny) Widmann (Keyboards) bildeten die Urbesetzung der Band. Über die Namensgebung gab es Uneinigkeiten und so entschloss man sich schließlich die Band Discordia (Zwietracht) zu nennen.
Der Name wurde offenbar Programm. Die Geschichte von Discordia ist kurz aber bewegt.
Zahlreiche Musikerwechsel machten und machen es schwer auf den Bühnen dieser Welt festen Fuß zu fassen. Immer wieder wenn es so aussah, als könnte man es endlich schaffen, stieg wieder ein Mitglied der Band aus.
Viel Frust darüber, aber auch die Hoffnung auf bessere Zeiten und das Wissen um die eigenen Fähigkeiten waren jedoch die Basis für einen komplett eigenen Stil.
Discordia besteht derzeit aus den beiden Masterminds Joschka (Gott) Altschäffl (Guitars, Songwriting, Producing, Vocals) und Bernhard (Berny) Widmann (Keyboards, Songwriting, Grunts, Spoken, Vocals), Veronika (Vroni) Hinzen (Sopran), Daniel (Jack) Weidner (Guitar) und Antonia Niesig (Violine). Damit ist die Band wiedereinmal nicht voll besetzt und es fehlen ein fähiger Schlagzeuger und ein Bassist.
So arbeitet man fleißig an neuen Songs und deren Produktion, versucht die Lücken in der Besetzung zu stopfen und nicht zu resignieren.
Discordia wird weitermachen.
Musik ist unser Traum, Discordia unser Schicksal.
Jede Geschichte hat ihren Anfang...
Viele haben ein Ende.
Aber nicht alle.

Als Diskordianismus versteht sich eine Glaubensgemeinschaft um die griechische Göttin Eris bzw. die römische Göttin Discordia, die sich in Form einer Religion/Religionsparodie oder einer scherzhaften Pseudo-Religion äußert. Die Definition „sowohl Witz als auch Religion“ entspricht dem angewandten Diskordianismus (Operation Mindfuck). Dieser hat das Ziel, Verwirrung zu stiften, zum Nachdenken anzuregen, Dogmen zu brechen und Strukturen aufzulösen sowie neue Sichtweisen zu eröffnen.
