About me:
Deaundrea Walker, known simply to many as, “Dee,” is a 25-year-old Nashville native whose melodic voice, commanding stage presence and magnetic personality deems her by many a rising star destined to burst onto the musical scene. Blessed with a remarkable talent, Walker has lent her voice to a number of legendary artists. In 2009, Walker sung background vocals for Donnie McClurkin and American Idol finalists Melinda Doolittle and Mandisa Hundley at the 40th Annual GMA Dove Awards. That same year, Walker went on to provide background vocals for Aaron Neville at the EMI Gospel Project. Walker made her mark on the much-anticipated Stellar Awards in 2008 and 2009 singing background for Heather Headley and Kirk Franklin. Music took its strong hold on Walker’s life at the age of 5. Her career debut happened in the same location where many musical greats got their start: in church singing hymns and gospel songs before a congregation. It was at that time and during the events to follow that revealed to Walker that it was her life’s ambition to become a recording artist. Singing in mirrors with a hairbrush as a microphone paved the way to appearing before crowds eager to hear the voice of their favorite “Dee.” The performer took the stage in numerous productions during her time as a student at Nashville School of the Arts, from where she graduated in 2003. In 2002, Walker won the highest honor by winning first place in football player Eddie George’s “Dream and Do It” talent show. The previous year, Walker was crowned Miss Tennessee Talent Teen 2001 and later that same year, won third runner up in the Hal Jackson Talented Teen International Pageant in Manhattan, NY. Philanthropy has always been a passion for Walker by dedicating her time to serving others. The singer has spent time as a missionary worker in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. More recently, Walker volunteers for several organizations, including the American Red Cross, NAACP and Stand for Children. Walker currently sings with the praise and worship team at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Nashville TN. In 2010, Deaundrea made her acting debut as lead in the local theatrical production entitled, “Can You Understand?” Although this is her first live production, Walker’s experience with the music industry makes her no stranger to the stage. The musician approaches every opportunity positively, taking the setbacks she has experienced and seeing them as an opportunity for God to do His work in her life. “I have auditioned for contests in the past, some I have won and some I did not win,” Walker said. “I know my calling in life is to touch the hearts of people through singing. I will continue to work until my destiny in life is fulfilled.” With a desire to lead, Walker has worked tirelessly toward her goal of excellence in the music industry. “I bring a dynamic liberation and stage presence to the stage,” Walker said. “When I accept the opportunity to sing, I sing selections that are meaningful, heart warming and inspirational. Every time I sing, I put my all in the song, while performing with integrity.”Who I'd like to meet:
