Monteloco aka It’s Loco Baby is the past, present & future of Latino Hip-Hop with over 12 years experience writing, producing, recording & performing. He is a pioneer on the forefront of the Latino Hip Hop movement, which he helped create. He is known internationally for his clever rhymes, catchy hooks, hot beats & electrifying live performances. His lyrical style combines West Coast party life with straight up East Coast lyrical skill.
Born in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico, he now calls Oxnard, California aka The 805 home. What separates Monteloco from the rest of the pack is his ability to create hit commercial songs. He has recorded w/ BMI award winning multi-platinum writer & producer Stocks McGuire (Credits include Dr. Dre & Nas), platinum guitar player Sean Cruse (Credits include Eminem, Dr. Dre & Aaliyah) & platinum recording artist Mellow Man Ace (Considered the God Father of Latino Rap).
Monteloco live performances are legendary. His energy & crowd control are second to none. He has rocked the stage with Rakim (Eric B. & Rakim), DJ Quik, Gang Starr, BeatNuts, Jurassic 5, Baby Bash, Frankie J & Cypress Hill.
Monteloco was the first artist from his area The 805 to sign a major Hip-Hop record deal (Thump/Universal 2001) & one of the first Mexican Hip-Hop artist to receive regular radio station rotation on the ground breaking program Pocos Pero Locos Power 106 FM(KPWR, Los Angeles, CA) with his hit song Lap Dance from the album Monteloco/Keep On Look’n (Thump/Universal). Monteloco’s next hit song, Playa Poppy from the album Monteloco/Keep On Look’n (Thump/Universal) was one of the most requested songs on Q104.7 FM (KCAQ, Ventura, CA). His album, Monteloco/Obsessed (Aztec Pyramid Recordings/Silent Giant Entertainment) features the Hit single “Drinkz Up” featuring Lorence Michaels, this song hit hard across the world, Germany, Japan, Russia, Mexico & through out the United States.
