Felix Kröcher – LÄUFT.
LÄUFT. This term has begun to appear with increasing frequency around Felix these last weeks. But, what is it? It’s really easy: it is the title of his album, appearing on 30th of September!
“I came across the idea during my DJ trips, especially at a party in Bonn, Germany, but it was also a recurring phrase in my daily routines. It exactly expresses what the album is about. Impulsive, groovy music, which encourages you to listen and to dance. Simply LÄUFT.” (German slang term for “in progress / it runs.”)
Whoever knows Felix, knows that, since his DISCOVER world tour at the latest, he is one of the global players of the international Techno scene. For over three years he has been represented in the top three of Raveline magazine’s voting and referred to as “German Techno Meister” by DJ Mag. He presents his multifarious, yet unique definition of electronic dance music to his listeners all around the globe every weekend.
The LÄUFT. album, which will be released on Nouveau Niveau Records will appear exclusively on Beatport on 16th of September and will be available at all record and online stores from 30th of September 2011. As part of the album, for one track each, Felix has collaborated with his long friend and colleague Elmar Strathe, and the Nouveau Niveau label boss himself, Tom Novy.
Furthermore, the official single release to accompany the album will also appear on 16th of September, including, alongside the original mixes of the tracks LÄUFT. and PASST. , remixes from artists like K-Paul from Lexy & K-Paul and Remute.
“To release the album on Tom Novy’s label Nouveau Niveau was a matter of the heart for me. Tom and I get along swimmingly, we have similar opinions about music and are also tuned to the same wavelength as people. He was one of the first I presented the complete album to and he told me totally honestly what was good, in his opinion and which things I had to rework. I really like his honest character and this is the best basis, beside our friendship, to work together also as business partners regarding this project.”
Of course Felix has also come up with an appropriate tour, which kicked off with a party at the Loft Beach in Mannheim together with Sunshine-Live on 30th of July. Moreover, the tour takes him to the WIRE Festival in Yokohama, Japan; Techno Parade in Paris, France; Mayday in St. Petersburg, Russia; Circus Nation in Granada, Spain; at Maggazini Generali in Milano, Italy, just to point out a few of the international stopovers. But certainly, Felix’ German-speaking home base will get an extensive chance to celebrate the album with Felix:
„Sure, the main focus of the LÄUFT. tour will be my home territory. Without this home base I just wouldn’t be at this point of my life, where I am today. To celebrate with my fans is a very special pleasure for me. Er steht für Techno made in Germany. Mit präzisen Mixes macht er die Musik zum Motor einer scheinbar endlosen Vorwärtsbewegung. Das Besondere an seinem druckvollen Sound ist, dass er nicht fordert sondern mit einer Leichtigkeit antreibt, die Massen bewegt.
2004 hat Felix Kröcher sein erstes Release Decksharks EP und geht mit einer eigenen Radio Show Hardliner beim Radiosender sunshine live on Air, mit der er bis heute erfolgreich ist. 2005 kommt die Residency im Frankfurter U60311 hinzu, die nach zwei Jahren in eine monatliche Eventreihe ausgebaut wird – womit er den Termin von Chris Liebings legendärem Freitagaaabend… übernimmt. Die Leser der Raveline, Deutschlands größtem Magazin für Elektronische Musik & Club Sounds, wählen Felix Kröcher in den Jahren 2007 und 2008 in der Kategorie Best DJ National auf Platz 1.
Die elektronische Musikszene hat ihre jungen Köpfe, die das Erbe der Urväter auf frische, zeitgemäße Art und Weise antreten. Kröcher ist einer von ihnen. Anfang Zwanzig hat er jahrelange, konsequente Basisarbeit und einen erfolgreichen Start in die internationale Club-Szene bereits geleistet. Da bleibt trotz Global Playing noch viel Zeit für sein ganz eigenes Artist Development. Und wohin es klanglich auch gehen mag – bei den wahrhaftig fetten Sounds ist Felix Kröcher längst angekommen.

His name is synonymous with techno made in Germany. His mix style is surgically precise, energizing the music into what seems like perpetual motion. What makes his sound outstanding is that it moves the masses without overwhelming them, drawing its strength from the lightest of touches.
The effortlessness with which Felix Kröcher masters his craft has made him a leading figure for a new generation of DJs. Felix grew up to the sound of Frankfurt, the city he was born in 1983. Whilst other kids were more interested in bikes or computers, Felix acquired his first decks at the age of 10 and played his first gigs in public at 16. Having finished his school career, he began a traineeship at the Sunshine Live Youth Radio station.
With his growing network his ideas and horizons also broadened. Until this day Felix Kröcher can count 61 releases to his name, including artist albums and EPs, remixes and a DVD - “The Live Collection”. It comes as no surprise that Felix Kröcher has firmly established himself as one of the top DJs on the European festival circuit.
The electronic music scene is home to a new generation of young DJs who have not only picked up the torch from the old guard but have their own fresh way of doing things. Felix Kröcher is one of them.
