Hollywood insider to co-host new Jax TV talk show The chief of security in the John Travolta-helmed "From Paris With Love" – and tunnel commander in "The Taking of Pelham 123," a cop in "Hairspray" and 14 other small- yet-often-memorable roles – will soon co-host Northeast Florida's morning TV talk show "First Coast Living". Nick Loren – a Hollywood producer, actor and Top 40 singer who started out in the entertainment business 14 years ago as Travolta's stunt double – will team up with anchor Casey Black to host the breakout show for WJXT. The ½ hour-long, 12 p.m. daily program – which showcases Northeast Florida personalities, news, businesses, events and activities – will start airing in November on the NBC/CBS affiliate. "I'm thrilled to be part of a show that's unlike anything this region has ever seen," says Loren, who plans to become bi-coastal and move to Jacksonville for the show. "I believe my life experience will come in handy when Casey and I interview and highlight the folks who help make the First Coast such an exciting and vibrant community." If he wasn't a co-host, Loren could be a regular guest on the program. His career has surprised some people – most notably, himself. For instance in 2009, he scored a Billboard Top 10 single, "Forever Be Cool," and produced an Oprah's favorite and Walmart bestselling DVD, "Dog-On Television." "I've been lucky," Loren says, smiling. "But I've also busted my butt." While continuing his 14-year and 18 film professional relationship with Travolta, Loren increasingly works behind the cameras – and behind the scenes. He's co-producing two TV programs with LA-based Scout Productions ("Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"): "Nikki's Teen World," a teen talk show featuring Nikki Blonsky ("Hairspray"), and "LogHeads," a heart felt reality series about a rugged white-cedar furniture making family and their patriarchs quest to help those in need. Loren has also created and is producing the gritty one-hour drama "Rrom" with director/producer Pierre Morel ("Taken") and "Farful Foolong from Oolong Panshoo," an animated series based on a collection of children's books he wrote, starring Blonsky, Rudy Youngblood ("Apocalypto") and Joey Lawrence ("Melissa and Joey). And he's developing film projects with producers Michael Tadross ("Hitch," "I Am Legend," "Sherlock Holmes") and Garrett Grant ("Hairspray," "Bedtime Stories"). Loren is no stranger to Jacksonville. Over the years, he's doubled for Travolta and acted in a couple of locally shot films, "Lonely Hearts" and "Basic". While filming "Lonely Hearts" he fell in love with the area and moved his family to Fernandina Beach, where they lived for a couple of years. He's married to "The Antonio Treatment" production manager Denise Loren. They have three children. "I'm an extremely curious person," Nick Loren says.
