For 100 days I went door to door in Michigan and Ohio to try my best to change minds. Leaving my home in Brooklyn NY. Leaving my loved ones to persuade people into voting for a man who I truly believe in. On the 4th, my and so many others dreams came true. All those hot July days knocking on 125 doors a day. All those cold October days running from dogs and getting the cops called on us. All the curses and doors slammed in your face. IT WAS ALL WORTH IT.
I cant help but feel a little personal pride in having a very small part in this. But yet how humble I feel in the face of history being created right before my eyes.
I see with new eyes on my return back to NYC. I had not understood poverty until I worked registrations in inner city Detroit. I did not know dispair until I knocked doors in Youngstown Ohio.
May whatever god you believe in as you read this, Bless us all. America, the stage is yours. Lets get this mess fixed up. The future of change is NOW.
All is well. I actually had to leave NH at the end of August for school. But I've been trying to stay active locally. I've been doing some local campaigns as well. I don't think I've ever been so excited about an election in my life!
