Stone cold Scorpio! Be forewarned.
Actor/Writer and political operative & community organizer for progressive candidates and causes.
I serve on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Retired Americans, am the Vice President for Community Organizations of the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans and was an at-large delegate to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging. For what it's worth, Bush became the first U.S. President not to appear at his own conference. He chose, instead, to have a photo-op in a gated community in suburban Virginia to extol Medicare D to wealthy retirees.
The WHCOA is held only once every ten years and in past administrations resulted in legislation such as the Older Americans Act and Medicare among others.
I grew up in Alton, Illinois in a working class (OCAW) family and graduated from Marquette Senior High School. My high school yearbook described me as a friendly, fun-loving guy.
Now, I guess I'm the sort of guy who can be your best friend or worst enemy, pretty much your choice as to how that turns out.
I served with the Marines as a regimental S2-Scout with the 5th Marine Regiment.
I graduated from the University of Houston with a B/A in Journalism and worked in Houston radio and television as an investigative reporter and talk-show host and producer. I earned numerous awards and recognitions including foreign study grants from the European Economic Community(now the EU) and the Jerusalem Press Club in Israel.
I've reported and produced news reports from small town cop-shops to the White House Press Room and covered fires, floods, hurricanes, refugee situations, several national political conventions and from several key listening posts in the Middle East and Europe during the early weeks of the Iranian Hostage Crises.
