There’s a new music showcase in town! RadioMike Perazzetti, host of the independent radio show ‘The Fevered Brain of Radio Mike,” announces a new monthly showcase to take place at Flamingo Cantina in Austin. Created to promote the diverse musical talent Mike features in his show, the showcase will present local Austin independent songwriters and bands as well as national touring acts. Melinda Rothouse of M.J. Baby & The Last Word, a roots-rock duo that landed in Austin after Katrina, will co-host the show. Confirmed artists for November include Hannah & Damon Williams, Cameron Wade, M.J. Baby & The Last Word, Grimnasty, and The Mighty Orq. The showcase will take place the second Wednesday of each month at 8p.m., beginning on November 8, 2006 at Flamingo Cantina, located at 515 E. 6th Street, with a $5 cover.
RadioMike began producing his radio show in New York City amidst the thriving Antifolk scene in 2001. He expanded the show’s scope with a call for independent music through the Internet, at which point he began receiving correspondence from bands all over the world. Seeking a change of pace and a thriving music scene, Mike relocated to Austin in late 2004, where he has been pleased to find an extremely high caliber of talent and quality of music. His radio show, “The Fevered Brain of Radio Mike, ” boasting a library of over 2500 artists, is podcast weekly via his website: www.thefeveredbrainofradiomike.com.
