Red-dirt Country Prayer
I don’t think there’s any place
That I’m more aware of God
Than out in the open spaces
With the sky and red-dirt sod
I can hear the sound of birds
As they go about their way
Finding food for their babies
On a clear and sunny day
For some unknown reason
The openness it seems
Creates the best of worlds
For all my hopes and dreams
And across this great vast country
I come across a church that’s rare
As I stop and pray I always know
That God listens because he cares
So when the days seem troubled
When life seems so unfair
I go out into the country
And have a Red-dirt country prayer!
