At age twenty, Crissi Cochrane's gentle melodies, clear voice and intricate guitar work are quickly capturing the hearts of listeners around the world. The Annapolis Valley born songstress first picked up the guitar at age ten, influenced by her father (and all the framed photos of his band in the basement, and all the demo tapes, and all the stories of love songs he'd written for her mother). At age sixteen, she braved the stage and began performing her own love songs under the name “Save September”. In her senior year of high school, Crissi independently produced her first release, The Bathroom EP (2006). Packaged in unique handmade cases, the album was recorded on a laptop in the bathroom of her family's home, and has since sold over 600 copies both locally and online internationally.
Today, Crissi is a Halifax resident and a graduate of the Nova Scotia Community College's Music Business program. Singing heartfelt songs of love, home, and family, Miss Cochrane has released her second installment of music as her three-song Sampler, and now performs under her given name. She has shared the stage with musicians such as Old Man Luedecke, Joel Plaskett, Amelia Curran, and Owen, and also performs in Halifax indie pop band Gamma Gamma Rays. With several festival showcases, tours, glowing reviews and over 160,000 online song plays under her belt, Crissi is becoming a fast favorite for fans here at home and around the world. Great things can be expected to come from this talented rising star.
