    ..the Lore.... 1209towanda where the 1,209th variation of the towanda initiative, a brain un-washing program that used memes hidden in sonic vibrations, from the scientists at the HIVE, to wake up it's listeners to the world around them. 1209townda's manager/friend/guru and all around swell guy was Dr. Detroit. He led the boys on a crusade to play any VFW, American Legion Hall, pizza joint back room, high school dance and town fair that he could, in order to spread their sound to the masses to save as many listeners as possible. This included making allies with the bands of the Peoria IL area. The Amazing Kill-O-Watts, the Veloria Beat, Citizen 66, Super88, Ars0Nick Scum, Corey Dixon & the Zvooks, AmberDexter and the Youth Class were all instrumental in helping 1209towanda achive their goal and further their adventures (as well as playing some mighty fine music themselves)... .. Along the way 1209towanda made some mortal enemies that would taunt them regularly at shows. The BLT Comandoes (Baccon, Lettuce & Terror), Evil Head, Darth Dave, Punkin' Head, the Evil Artist, Fanblade Head and the most feared the Evil Doctor Rotwang Quicken. Luckily 1209towanda was able to always defeat them with the help of Super Roadie, Jammy Wakeboard, Super Rasta, the afore mentioned Dr. Detroit, Young Santa Claus, Pirate Davey, Rabbi Fansburg, the ever popular X - 12 the Dancing Robot and of cource all the fans that kept coming to all the shows month after month... .. ..the Kinda the Truth.... 1209towanda was a band that started sometime in the very late '90s, like 1999 or something. They had several members at several shows, but what shook out of that rotation was a core membership of 5 that wrote most of the songs and drove the band. Those 5 became best friends and were always at the band's heart. They were the Cabana Boy, the Child Prodigy, the Flapjack Bandit, Porkchop Jimmy and Rad Jose. As they grew they became drinking buddies, roomates and groomsmen for each other. They had formed a bond that still lasts... .. Later on they started having a regular cast of additional players including Atomik Satterfield, Joey Rockstar, Nick-Nate & Noodle C. Bass. As often as they could they'd get former members MC Twinpop, Tlas Desidoi and Thee Sexxy back in the mix. No one every really quits 1209towanda, they just kinda go back to real life... or they quit, then comeback and then 1209towanda fires them... .. ..the Truth.... 1209towanda are 5 guys (2 of them are even brothers) that like a lot of the same music and didn't want to put down their instruments after HS band was over. They all have a similar outlook on life and like to make up silly songs together and then play them in front of a crowd. They also claim they did this so that they could get in free to the shows they played. They did stage show stuff incase a crowd didn't like the music they made. Entertaining the audience at all costs was the motto for the band. They used to play practically every month, and then only on months that were breaks from college. After that they would get together at least a few times a year whenever some one asked them to. See, they mostly moved away from each other, it's that damn distance that gets in the way of more shows... .. The Cabana Boy and Porkchop Jimmy still hold it down in the Peoria area. The Child Prodigy is out in the Cham-bana, IL region and the Flapjack Bandit resides in St. Louis. Rad Jose has been lost to the wilds of Los Angeles, CA... .. But the band only needs good excuse and to be in the same area to pull off another show. 1209towanda is a hard band to kill!.. .. ..Releases.... Seriously, we promise to get more songs up here, and to one day maybe even record a few more that we have written. In our hearts we know that it's not over, but seriously, everyone who's been there at any point at all, thanks for the ride!..
