121normal (one-twenty-one normal) is an ongoing studio project featuring the music of Glenn Poorman. The name of the project comes from the location of Glenn's original working studio and the neighborhood where most of his early works were written and recorded.
The original studio was assembled around 1982 and consisted of two stereo
cassette recorders hooked together for bouncing purposes. Hours of music of varying genres came out of those early sessions. Guest performers frequently appeared on the recordings and late night sessions were as much a social event as they were a musical one.
After a handful of moves, the studio returned to it's original location around 1985 at which point the dual cassette setup was replaced with an Audio Technica ATRMX64 four track cassette recorder and some studio quality effects units. This lasted well into the 90s at which point Glenn began experimenting with some digital recording setups such as early versions of Cakewalk and the earlier Roland workstations.
Today, Glenn's studio is all digital and computer based using Apple computers, Logic Pro software and audio interfaces made by MOTU and Mackie. The instruments he plays include the Chapman Stick®, electric and acoustic guitars, fretted and fretless electric bass, piano, keyboards and software instruments of all kinds including synths, rhythm programmers and samplers.
The first official self-titled release from 121normal was released in August of 2007.
hey! we are trying to change something... our new singer erik can't be a full member of dreamscape because the stess to travel a lot is affecting his health. so we decided to work with more than one singer - honestly we will work with even more than two... hopefully you will like that idea! we like it a lot because we will be very flexible and our sound will become even more complex! kind regards! DREAMSCAPE (progressive metal from germany) (new cd november 2009! - buy or let die!)
PS: always believe in your dreams! and don't get frightened if they are becoming real! - because for a believer they will!
Check it out! I wrote a free book on music production! It's for total beginners, but if you aren't new to music production, maybe you'll still learn something... at least you can send it to your friends who always want to ask you a billion questions about music production! It's free so...
"At last a follow up to Janette Mason's sparkling debut as leader. Alien Left Hand ....was well worth the wait…” Production **** Performance**** -- BBC Music Magazine
“…an album fizzing with fresh ideas and delights, an exhilarating musical journey .. with brilliantly original writing and inspired playing…” -- Helen Mayhew
"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun. " -- Diva Magazine

Thanks for the add! I think that your 121normal is a great Chapman Stick showcase, and way ahead of the pack in terms of production, sounds and creating moods. Great work!
Glenn, Thanks for the kind words, I have been listening to you work on the Stick for some time now. It helps keep me focused while I wait for mine. And again, thanks for giving to tunes a listen. Scott AG&D
