The brilliant Dullards use an eclectic blend of Americana,
improvisation, and electronic manipulation to create a new species of music pointing towards tradition while pushing the boundaries of modern eclecticism. The groups members are; Alex Neville (acoustic guitar, banjo, electronics, voice), Chase Haynes (bass, trumpet, voice, sampler), Jeremy Bleich (electric guitar, melodica, sampler), and Milton Villarrubia, III (drum set, bell, laptop). Originally formed in 2005 with Neville and Haynes, its current manifestation formed in the summer of 2006. While still a fairly new band, they have already performed in a wide variety of venues throughout New Mexico: performing live with "Luminous Cabaret" 2006 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, at the Santa Fe Beer and Nut Festival, the Historic Taos Inn, The Cowgirl, and at The High Mayhem Festival in 2006 and 2007. The brilliant Dullards have recently composed a film soundtrack for Burning Books, "Between 5th and 6th" for the CCA dialogue 360 series.

so here's the funny part...I was thinking "dullards" like "mallards" and associating the band with ducks. turns out, dullards does not refer to ducks, but i'd like to continue thinking that it does . Cause I think chase and alex in particular resemble very cute ducks and that makes me happy. you guys are all fucking fabulous.
Rumor has it we should read the Reporter next week. (Tomorrow, too, I guess. Just to show them some love.) But in next week's we may find something a bit dullardly.
