An unforgiving bombastic shout for the new music epicureans. Brought to you by legendary promoter Sean McLusky, THE1234 presents the best new underground music alongside inspirational international artists, set deep in the heart of London's most creative and cultural quarter. THE1234 festival manifesto is to provide a platform for the best musical talents from East London and the best emerging talent from around the globe. "THE1234's strength is in it's uncompromising lineup - it would rather book the bands it loves, than include a handful of names that tick unwanted boxes - that's how it ends up with a bill you'll not find anywhere else." Previous years we saw performances from HAR MAR SUPERSTAR featuring FAB MORRETI from The Strokes, FLORENCE & THE MACHINE, LIGHT SPEED CHAMPION, THE WHIP, SHY CHILD, PATRICK WOOLF, THE RAKES, THE WARLOCKS, CRYSTAL FIGHTERS, HATCHAM SOCIAL, A PLACE TO BURY STARNGERS, CHROME HOOF and POLLY SCATTERGOOD, DUM DUM GIRLS, FUCKED UP, THE SILVER MACHINE, VIVIAN GIRLS, VON HAZE, THESE NEW PURITANS, WAVES, S.C.U.M, MARINA AND THE MIRRORS, FLATS, ROLO TOMASSI, BO NINGEN, TRUSH METAL play amongst many others that are still learning their craft and some that have just burned too brightly. 2011 sees a vastly improved festival set up, site infrastructure and production veering swiftly away from the (now claimed as intentional) 'COLDITZ ' feel of last years production. The site will now provide; more stages, more tents, more music, more bars, more food, more stalls, more flashing lights, more entertainment, better VIP enclosure and an artists village, all on a Saturday at the incredible early bird ticket price of £15. This year there will be 5 different stages, 1. Open-air main stage 2. Big top second stage 3. The inaugural 1234SHOREDITCH first took place on Auguest 5th 2007, and saw 15,000 people descend on the park. It was the creation of music mogul Sean Mclusky and creative director Martin J Tickner (M&C Saatchi / The Maurice Einhardt Neu Gallery) and borne from the crumbling foundations of 1234 Records (a small independent label that was set up in conjunction with hip Shoreditch design house PPQ and which released records from the likes of Whitey (Kylie Mynogue remixes, Barclay Card Advert), Cazals, Babyshambles (Pete Doherty), Twisted Charm, The Bishops and Cosmethique (who ushered in the start and speedy end of Peaches Geldof's singing career).
