- Acting/filmaking - google "80's Ending" and check out "Gambling Divinty" on Amazon or imdb - theeeyy're great! As far as making films - I use the Xl1 and Adobe premier right now (until I can afford the Xl2 and a mac!)
- History - esp. Roman History, around the Julio-Claudian period, but also the gracchi brothers, and the rise of the various pre-Ceasarian "imperial prototypes" (Marius, Sulla, etc)

Music
Alice In Chains is the best band ever in the history of the world as far as I'm concerned! But I also dig Drew Cummings, Social Distortion/Mike Ness, Jerry Cantrell, Ice Cube, The Roots, Nirvana, Sex Pistols, MotorHead, The Crannberries, The Beatles, The Doors, Led Zeplin, Whale, RHCP, Guns'n'Roses, Megadeath, Living Color, Groove Child, Screaming trees, Union Underground, Ministry, Sam Philips, Snoop, Biggie, Reverend Horton Heat, NIN, Throwing Muses, old REM, J5, Everlast, STP, Velvet Revolver, ACDC, L7, The Dwarves, Babes in Toyland, The Gits,Movies
HORROR FLICKS!!! I love them all, zombie flicks in particular, and cheesier is better (especially mid to late 80's fair); my favs include (but NOT limited to) the Rami's Evil Dead series (gotta love Bruce Campbell), Romero's dead trilogy (and the remake), Reanimator (the first one ONLY), Creep show 1 & 2, Return of the Living Dead series, Jaws, CHUD, Zombie Lake, Oasis of the Zombies, Shaun of the Dead, Fulci's Zombi, Jackson's Braindead, The Friday the 13th series, ditto NOES, and some lesser known ones like the Brood, the Kindred (not the Vampire series), Demons, Dead Pit, Revenge of the Dead, I Madman, DeathDream, Children Shouldn't play with Dead Things, God Told Me To, Hardware, Night of the Demons. Aside from horror, I gotta say that Sid & Nancy = the most romantic flick EVA, closely followed by Last of the Mohicans (the only movie I've seen thats better than the book!)! Anything by Kurasawa is good, especially Ran and & 7 Samurai.Television
Books
As far as fiction, my favorite book of all time is the Swedish novel "Ride this Night" by Wilheilm Moberg - phenominal look at the rise of totalitarianism, written during the German conquest of Europe during World War II. I have also always been a fan of Armor by John Steakly - great sort of allegorical depiciton of the horrors of war and human detachment. Atlas Shrugged, Brave New World, 1984, Animal Farm (actually, anything by Orwell), Machiavelli - The Prince,
anything by Robert E Howard or HP Lovecraft, some of Steven King's earlier stuff, The Dragonlance and Tolkein LOTR books...

About me:
.... I currently reside in Washington, with my ridiculously hot wife, incredible 5yr old son, and 2 ugly pug dogs. they are (yes, even the dogs) my life, the focus of all of my energy and the source of all of my strength. I lived all over the US growing up, from Seattle to Durham, New Hampshire, to Minneapolis and back again. I love to travel - made it to Europe recently (Italy and France - was more a fan of Italy), and wouldn't mind a repeat of that trip. I would really like to hit up Russia and South America (Brasil) though too.I work as an ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner). I spent the last couple years working in the emergency room, but will be leaving there at the end of February and moving on to do Sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.
I am heavily involved (my wife says obsessed) with the martial arts, and train in Brazilian JiuJitsu at Lotus Club in Auburn, under James Foster, and Kempo Karate under Jeff Cully at the AKEA . I am also a HUGE fan of MMA events like the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Pride FC. I liked competing (no, I was never even close to being in either of those afore mentioned big shows) when I was doing it; but injuries, school, work, etc. have kept me out of that aspect for a while now.
I also tried the acting thing for a while, check me out at imdb.com (under Jestyn Comyns) - Gambling Divinity kicks ass, you should see it! But now am working on making my own short films and digital video editing...and stuff.
I love to cook, particularily Italian food, but rarely find the time to go to all of the trouble now :( Oh yeah and I'm a big dork/nerd/geek, etc - what else can I say...
