2005: Raced in the inaugural Champ car Taylor Woodrow Grand Prix of San Jose in the USTCC class. Driving the B & G Suspension Mazda 6. Started in 26th position out of 32 and finished and impressive 18th in his first standing start race.
2004: Gained a position as lead driver of the B & G Suspension Mazda 6 team out of San Diego, California and will be competing in the USTCC (United States Touring Car Championship) in the 2005 season thanks to an introduction from Roberto Trinidad of the Tenth Element. With a strong recommendation from Joe Cassella- Owner of International Motorsports Products/Performance Drivers Association and Javier Ortega- Sport Compact Director for the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) he gained a position on the International Racing Systems Ltd. Race team. He drove a Formula/Continental F2000 car in the East division of the Sports Car Club Of America. Showing his commitment to the team and to racing he moved into team housing in Middletown, Pennsylvania. He scored an 8th place finish in his first SCCA driver school race. He then finished 3rd place in his second driver school race. In his first practice race he started from the pit lane due to mechanical failure in qualifying and fought to the front for a 1st place finish. Having received high marks from his instructor in the judgment, technique, attitude, reaction, courtesy, flag recognition and comparative lap time categories he received his regional SCCA racing license. Richard qualified 10th in his first MARRS (Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series) race and finished in a trophy winning 4th place overall. Qualified 9th in his second MARRS race and finished again with a 4th place trophy. After being able to compete in two races in the series because of time restraints out of a possible nine he finished an impressive 8th in the MARRS final points. Applied for and received his N.A.S.A. (National Auto Sport Association). Debut as lead driver for B&G Suspension with Mazda 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the SEMA Show.
2003: Drove his own upgraded USTCC/SCCA spec Dodge Neon touring car at N.A.S.A. and PDA club racing events for his own team WalkTall Racing sponsored by Lawrence Distributors/ 7UP, Talbot Enterprises and advanced from upper intermediate level to the Experienced/Instructor level. Traveled to Great Britain to test drive go-karts at Playscape Pro Racing.
2002: Driving his own SCCA STS (Street Touring Sedan) class neon at PDA club racing events he advanced from the rookie level to the upper intermediate group.
Previously: 1996-2001: Started entering car shows with his Dodge Neon at the age of 21 and immediately started putting his concentration on competition. Got his first win in 1998 and started dominating the car show scene on the east coast from Boston to Georgia until 2001 when he was offered the Head car show judge job at world famous Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. With his new job restricting him from competing in car shows he turned his sites on SCCA SOLO 1 racing competition. Placed 2nd and 3rd respectfully in his first two events.
Disliking the parking lot courses his sights were turned towards club racing.
Personal: Born Feb 3 1975. Favorite drivers are Ayerton Senna and Mika Hakkinen. Favorite track is Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, USA.

Who I'd like to meet: 2007 started quickly with applying for my instructor license, earning it with high marks from my mentor. I now preparing for a time attack race held by Grassroots Motorsports magazine and plan on returning to racing full time. In 2006 I took a break from racing to devote time to my newborn baby girl and family. In 2005 I competed in the San Jose Grand Prix in san Jose, California. After qualifying in 26th position i finishe in 18th place avioding may incidents in the tight downtown temporary street course. In 2004 I competed in the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Championship which is organized by the SCCA Washinton D.C. region. I was sponsored by International Racing Systems and fielded a 1989 Reynard formula continental. After competing in just two races of nine I finished 8th out of 23 in the championship.Before this oppertunity I ran my own successful privateer team for 4 years,transforming my show car into a SCCA and NASA approved race car. I also have worked in an Automotive Performance Shop and managed two Automotive Detailing shops. From 1999 to 2002, I was President of one of the largest and most reputable auto clubs in the tri-state area. I am also a Certified PPG Paint Technician and am a seasoned veteran of the Automotive Show and Race Industry.
Having run my own auto club, I have acquired a top-judging job at world famous Raceway Park in NJ, which relate to customer interaction due to my many years of direct public contact. From car show coordinator, Detail Technician, to my Manager positions; I have extensive experience in all business operations including screening, hiring and training of prospective new employees.I also hold an Instructor position for my team owners corporate entertainment business Formula101. My responsibilities in addition to my instruction are to assist my co-employees with diagnosis and repair of damaged entertainment racecars and give pointers to clients on driving technique. This enables me to build and maintain a solid customer base through direct involvement with corporate customers. I have worked diligently in the industry and have numerous automotive contacts. I believe I am well respected and looked up to by my peers in the industry.
As you can see by the above, my professional background demonstrates versatility and the aptitude to accept responsibility. My professionalism can lend any project the respect, and exposure rarely attained by many teams. I consider myself enthusiastic and articulate. Combined with my highly motivated work style this leads me to believe that gaining the position of No.1 driver for B&G Suspension, is not only an exceptional opportunity for me, but for all who share my vision of winning and are on my team!
