Welcome to my page! I would like to offer you an impression of myself. I am a musician and have been working in the music industry since I was 16 years old. I have added my biography but also information about a new project I just started and about the lessons I give. Biography

Music became a fulltime occupation on several levels ever since 1999. (Studying, touring, recording, teaching but also writing. Nb: I wrote all vocal melodies and most lyrics in After Forever)

Despite this variety there was always a desire to start working on a project of my own, with music different from After Forever. After finishing my studies this desire became even bigger and this year (2008) it became reality and the writing process has started!

Due to an unexpected turn this project can get full priority because After Forever cannot continue it’s path as planned and hoped. Guitarist/composer Sander Gommans was already stoke earlier in 2007 by a severe burn-out, something that does not heal quickly and is therefore now the reason the band decided to take a one year break to be able to return at full power and strength! I will use this break to focus on writing music for this new project together with guitarist/songwriter Jorn Viggo Lofstad (Pagan’s Mind, Jorn) Next to that there are more possibilities for teaching. Let’s go back in time:

Most people know me as the singer of the melodic metal band After Forever. I acquired most of my experience as a performer, songwriter and singer in working with and for this band. I joined After Forever in 1997 being a 16 year old girl who simply liked to sing and liked listening to heavy music. The band became more successful then I ever could have dreamed of and music became more then a hobby and a passion.

In 1999 I started studying on the Rock Academy, a new type of education in The Netherlands that can be compared with the conservatory but for rock and pop musicians. While studying I learned more about the music industry, singing, performing and teaching. During the third year I started taking vocal lessons at the conservatory. My goal was to learn how to sing in various music and vocal styles; not rock & pop alone but also classical and any other style for that matter. In the meantime After Forever became bigger an better known band. In 2000 we released the first album ..Prison of Desire... At that time nobody had ever heard of the band yet but that soon changed after this release. The second album ..Decipher.. made the band grow even more. This album was released in 2001 and After Forever started to become a well known band on many stages and festivals, nationally as well as internationally. In 2003 the mini album ..Exordium.. was released, soon followed by the third full length album ..Invisible Circles.. in 2004. In the same year I also graduated on the Rock Academy and continued studying (parttime) at the conservatory in Tilburg on music theatre and opera I also started to teach more: individual lessons, courses and workshops for singing, performing and lyric- and songwriting. In 2005 the album ‘Remagine’ came out. After this release After Forever signed a new deal with Nuclear Blast and the Dutch team ‘The Entertainment Group’. With this brand new team we released our self titled album ‘After Forever’ in 2007.

The Project

For many years I have had the desire to start a project of my own in a different musical direction and style as After Forever. There was no time nor creative energy left to do this but now the band is having it’s break the moment is there to start working on this idea. I am very exited to do this and happy to have found a great talent to work with. His name is Jorn Viggo Lofstad, a Norwegian guitarist and songwriter known from his band Pagan’s Mind but also from Jorn Lande (go to http://www.myspace.com/viggopm for more info about him) There is not much I can tell you yet but I can make you the promise to update you as often as possible!!!

Next to singing and performing myself I am also a professional tutor. As you can read in my biography I have studied both Rockacademy as Conservatory and I am able to sing and teach in various music styles. I have started teaching in 2003 and have some years of experience now in working with all kinds of students in all kinds of situations.
