Bio
........ .. ..........Myspace Layouts...... ....Myspace Codes...... ....Myspace Generators...... ....Myspace Backgrounds...... Providing the bridge of sanity from the Hair Band experiment of the 80's, Wonderboy was one of the early retroneers to bring back the "Power Pop" sound that they grew up with. A return to songs that had a melody that stuck in your head and your teeth, led Wonderboy to rule the stages of L.A. in the 90's. Unfortunately, many of those stages seemed to fold under the weight of a potential pop icon... (R.I.P.; Madame Wong's, The Central, Raji's, Club Lingerie, Music Machine, Jack's Sugar Shack, etc.) Band founder and frontman Robbie Rist was the furnace that fueled this rock machine. He was voted "The Sweatiest Man in Rock 'N Roll" two years in a row, joining the likes of Gene Simmons, Blackie Lawless, and Chrissie Hynde. Robbie is a talent like no other, he writes songs with deep emotional content and sarcastic wit that make you stand up and take notice and then sit back down again. With a supporting cast behind him consisting of Pat McGrath on lead and rhythm guitars and vocals, Paul (Wally) Presson - drums, percussion and vocals, and Dave Brow - bass and vocals; this band could blow you away like a flatulent rhino longing for love in the deep dark jungle of the city...(Huh?) Their 1994 album release party for "Abbey Road to Ruin" at Club Lingerie was listed as the Rock Music Event of the Decade, er, weekend... you had to be there. Wonderboy recorded four albums; Wonderboy, Abbey Road to Ruin, Hero Isle and Napoleon Blown Apart. Only Hero Isle, produced by Christian Nesmith (...got Milk?) remains unreleased. It has become Wonderboy's "Smile" and holds some of their most classic anthemic songs. A few of the songs have seen the light of day on compilation CDs. Skidmarks was released on "Yellow Pills Vol. 3", Words Escape Me on "Pop Under The Surface", and Moron Man on "Of Hands and Hearts". Eventually the complete album will be released fully remastered with a retrospective called "The Wonder Years, 1990 - 2000". While rumours persist that the band broke up, that is not true. In fact, after taking a year off for tax reasons, Wonderboy embarked on thier first inter-galactic tour in 2001, about a week after their triumphant performance at Sparklefest in Raliegh, N.C. They are currently enjoying sell out crowds and robust sales in a galaxy far away. They do plan an Earth rendezvous towards the end of this century, yet they will have only aged a few months! Keep checking back here for updates on Wonderboy's whereabouts. -

Thanks for the add, Robbie! And don't worry, that bottle of love is tucked away somewhere, aging gracefully.
